My Boyfriend of 8 years Passed away last Thursday

And I kind of can't help but hate the outside world and the only emotion I can actively feel aside from just feeling numb to everything is this deep depressing pit of sadness and loneliness
 
I am so sorry to hear that! :( My condolences. I know it must be terrible right now, but it will get better with time, and the only thing you can do after the passing of a loved one, is to move on for them, as well as for yourself.

That is my single worst fear so I don't know what to say but hopefully one of the people here who have experienced the loss of a boyfriend can help you.
 
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Give yourself time to process the grief. It is never easy to lose someone you love, but over time, things will seem better.
 
So sorry for your loss, and our thoughts/prayers are with you, friends, family. But don't allow your sorrow to make ill, have ill thoughts, or think negative of our world. As he would not want you to do this. While you need to grieve your pain, you must do your best to keep your life in control and keep going forward.

We all deal with our pain differntly, but surround yourself with a good support group and keep your chin up and keep hold your head high in his honor..

I am truly sorry for your loss. My love died in hospital and I was by his side. The devastation I went through took 9 months to work itself out.

You might consider counseling to help you deal with this. Does your employer offer an Employee Assistance Program? Consider a leave of absence under the Family Medical Leave Act: my employer raised no questions.

So sorry for your loss ! Eight years of memories is what you can go foreward with and that is alot more than most of us can. Remember the good times and do greive but know he would want you to go on. If you need help please get it and know you can always vent here. Think of the good times and be well...he would want that.

Ugh .. that sucks :( My condolences .. I haven't seen you around for some time and although it is a sad occasion, I think it's good that you seek out someone to speak here, too. I can't imagine what has to go through someone's head after an experience like that :( I hope we can support you in some way or another.

You have a community here to seek support and love from. There are a few guys here who have gone through the same thing of experiencing the death of a long-term partner. I am sure they will reach out to you soon when they see this thread.

My condolences to your loss. I hope you heal and get better in time. It takes awhile but give yourself time to grief and slowly rid yourself of the negativity and distance with the world. Know that he has gone into a much better place. My thoughts are with you.

Well, I am so very sorry for your terrible loss. And can appreciate the tremendous shock and emptiness you are feeling right now.

I hope that you have supportive family and friends who are helping you out through this terrible time. To have lost such a dear person feels like someone has torn the whole world in half.

If you feel you do not have the support of other people that you need, I highly recommend that you seek out a good qualified grief counsellor and pour your heart and soul out. Talk yourself through this.

You grief and depression are, of course, so perfectly normal....you just need to give yourself the opening out of it.

I think posting here is a first really good step. To find out that there are so many people who are here for you while you work through your grief as well. While you may hate the outside world right now, you obviously feel the need to re-engage in it and that is a really healthy sign.

I would suggest that you keep a journal for awhile. Write out everything you can. Capture these memories and feelings.

We're here to listen to what is in your heart.
