I was gonna get some!

First date with lovely guy from the wonderful world of the internet, he sent me an SMS 15 minutes beforehand telling me he couldn't make it. Me, being Mister Punctuality, was already at the coffee shop waiting.

Fucking fuckpoo!

I'm full of nervous first date energy now with no way to release it.

Hopefully it wasn't the case where the guy scoped you out while you were waiting in the coffee shop, and he decided he wasn't interested after seeing you in person. That kinda shit happens all the time with first dates for internet hookups.

I bet that will make him feel better.

I had a guy ( we had been out a couple Of times) cancel at the the last minute after I had just spent twenty bucks on movie tickets--He said he had to work late. It would have been nice to tell me that when we texted thirty minutes earlier---but whatever.

Was just thinking that.

Don't worry - maybe he was just really nervous at the thought of meeting such a great guy and was worried that he wouldn't live up to your expectations.

Fuck em. Internet hookups are like ordering a pizza for us. Just log on and order a new one.

Ten years ago I was stood up on a first date of the internet variety. Seems the guy lost track of time doing some home repairs. He called later, apologizing profusely and offered to take me to dinner......fast forward ten years and we couldn't be happier........though he still does lose track of time.

That is a bummer. If someone was going to cancel I would want to know the day before at least. I would just forget him, you will find someone else.

That sucks, unless he had a major emergency he is a jerk to cancel so close to the date.

that's totally rude.. i mean - everyone understands that things come up, but to cancel at the last minute is obnoxious.. and i'm the type that spends alot of time psyching myself up, doing my hair, deciding what to wear, etc, (ESPECIALLY on a first date) so to cancel at the last minute would totally piss me off.. and like someone else said - if i absolutely HAD to cancel at the last minute (which i never have) then i wouldn't do it lightly, i'd sincerely apologize and at least try and reschedule another time and offer to take them to a nice dinner, etc.. if this guy just casually canceled at the last minute, then i'd dump him and move on..

So in the interests of closure and because I know you all care deeply about the life and times of ashonfire... I gave the guy a second chance, we met up last night, he was handsome, intelligent, lovely and I got laid. (!)

Always give a second chance, but never a third.

did you ever find out his name in case you see him a second time? i guess getting laid was more important then trying to find out who the guy really is.#-o

Another classic JUB thread.

and another classsic kick-in-the-ass JUB response....

can't we find a less disparaging manner to ask if we're on a first name basis yet ... rather than pissing on a guy's shoes ... probably because some are too inhibited to find-a-friend on the internet ... and just dis any attempt other than patience in the shadows?

geez.... maybe it's a great success story like momp's:
