What gets me is how anyone can call Fox news a snooze.

Quality TV there and I'm just blessed that I can access this channel on my Sky app for mobile.

American liberals are totally intolerant of other view points. The remained of out TV channels are liberal and democrat and hostile to Republicans. Liberals detest the idea than one channel is friendly to Republicans. So, they have developed an ideology that says that is stupid, boring and dishonest. The hostility shown by the democrat "moderators" in the recent Republican debate was so obvious that the audience booed the moderators.

A poll by Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey showed that of all the news channels out there, Fox News viewers are the least informed.

People were asked questions about news habits and current events in a statewide poll of 600 New Jersey residents recently. Results showed that viewers of Sunday morning news shows were the most informed about current events, while Fox News viewers were the least informed. In fact, FDU poll results showed they were even less informed than those who say they don’t watch any news at all.

Ive been watching MSNBC since Olbermann was beating O'Reilly night after night.
Olbermann was the closest thing liberals had to a democrats version of Fox News.

MSNBC is not the democrats 'left wing spin machine' like Fox News was (as now most of their viewers are dying off), people like Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart are.

But if there were a left wing spin machine on our side like TYT, it would double MSNBC's ratings, however, democrats have much different expectations when it comes to politics. For some reason we dont like getting dirty because its 'incorrect, inappropriate' however, if anyone here has seen my posts over the years, I dont give a fuck what republicans think, they can go die in a ditch if they hate medicare so much, and even some 'moderates' here, you know who you are and your on my ignore list, who will remain unnamed get 'offended and outraged' when you talk about the collective state of denial that is America and american politics, they should know better and they are angry because I know how to strike a nerve with republicans, some 'democrats' here, the cynics, and their apologists.

Good on MSNBC, I like morning joe, but joe scarborough needs to STFU once in a while and Tomas Roberts needs to stop carrying water for Hillary and going after Bernie.

And Ted Cruz, if he hates his party so much WTF IS HE DOING THERE?

MSNBC ratings also track with current events, more people trust MSNBC to deliver IMPORTANT FACTS during things like national elections and national crisis, that is why their ratings will only continue to climb as we approach 2016.
 
I just wish that Laika was still posting here. He (she?) was adamant that FOX was forever unassailable in the rating wars for cable news.

Which, by the way isn't saying a lot because compared to network news programming, all the cable news audiences don't amount to much.

I wonder what FOX will do over the next eight years as more and more of their audience expires? Even now, many of the programs are only being supported by bargain basement advertisers pitching to old people who don't spend money on anything.

That's a good point. Rachel Maddow is the opposite of Fox News.

She doesn't try to look sexy. She's an intellect and her appeal is to thought.

Fox, on the other hand, disparages thought. It is soft porn for straight men, and little more. The anchors are young women. They sit on a couch with their legs crossed. The camera comes in at knee height, tantalizing the viewer that he might catch a glimpse of their snatches. There is even a segment called "One Lucky Guy" where a straight guy sits in the center of the couch, with two babes on either side of him. The straight guy rails against Obama and blacks and women and gays, while the babes tell him how great he is, and how lucky they are to be in his presence. It's hilarious!
 
One doesn't HAVE to watch Megyn just for her looks. But her very appearance and presence eases the flow of (mis)information from TV to view. If one finds someone pleasant to look at then listening is that much easier.

The same with politicians, TV characters, etc. You don't find many truly ugly people in these, unless their ugliness is fully intentional.

It's no accident that Megyn is an anchor. She's easy to pay attention to. And she doesn't have to exploit this, but she does.

It's fine that you drool over cleavage. That's your boat and I don't care. The operative word is "her". Possessive pronoun. You obsess over her. Direct object. You obsess over her because of her celebrity status, and use that to attempt to quash any criticisms directed at her, no matter how trivial. Anything from her hosting to her clothes is off-limits because she's a "celebrity".

I'll be honest. I don't think she's that big of a celebrity. She's not O'Reilly or Shep Smith. She's more an auxiliary personality on FOX. I must admit I don't know who 95% of the people you tout for their celebrity-ness are. Cladia Cowan included.

Well, I was shocked when one poster here said they never knew who Ellie Goulding and Ariana Grande are.

Without trying to offend, I think the reason a lot of Jubbers don't know who they are is because they appeal to a younger generation like the 20s. I know the ones in HT are quite old.

Also Megyn isn't just liked for being a Celebrity but also being very outspoken. I saw her take on a bunch of men and she kicked their asses.:=D:
 
Miscalculation on the age front--I'm in my 20s. And I don't know who Ellie Goulding is and only have a faint sense of who Ariana Grande is. Believe it or not, there are people like me who really don't give a fuck about "celebrities", "pop culture" etc.

Hence my question, perhaps better phrased as "WHY is it you're drooling over her cleavage? Is it because you think she's attractive or she's a "celebrity"?" The latter is the distressing one.

She is attractive because she is attractive, but she also happens to be on TV. Also why the hell would anyone drool over her cleavage because she's a celebrity ...??? I mean Rosie O'Donell is a celebrity and who would EVER drool over her...??

Are there any ugly women who work for Fox on camera? There certainly are plenty of ugly men on Fox. The men were hired because of their political backgrounds. Curious that all Republican women are young, gorgeous babes. Is there something about hating blacks, women, and gays that makes a woman (but obviously not a man) beautiful?

How is it that only gorgeous babes are qualified to do what Megyn does at FOX? Just a coincidence, surely. Everyone who applied for those positions probably just happened to be beautiful, and Fox merely selected the most qualified journalists among them.

And what do you make of the segment Outnumbered, where a straight, white guy sits on the couch with four of the babes and complains about Obama, blacks, women, gays, and poor people? You know, the segment that Harris Faulkner calls "One Lucky Guy." The one where the babes tell the white guy how smart he is, and how lucky they are to be there with him. It's surely just a political discussion, no? No sexual overtones there!
