My friend at work is going insane because of Obama. What can I do?

Well he says he does feel as safe going to bed at night as he did with Bush in office.

And is "very" afraid the government is going to slowly start telling him what to do.

I know....it is called paranoid.

Exactly. It's all in his head. Every bit of it.

The bottom line is that his life hasn't changed it all and it is all in his mental state. So something is making him paranoid, his life hasn't changed since Obama is in office .. so ... hmmmmm.

All he needs to do is connect the dots. Force this exercise onto him if you would and let me know what he says.

He listens to conservative talk radio all day, when he first arrives at work until he leaves. All day. Every day.

I mean why would you want to sit and listen to someone complain about Obama and how terrible things are in the country all day long "every single day"?

Everytime you speak to him all he talks about his how awful Obama is and how wonderful Ronald Reagan is. He is obsessed with Ronald Reagan.

I say to him, "So freaking what? What can you do about it?"

He says, "Well... we can take to the streets is what we can do! Our freedoms and liberties are at stake! We need Reagan now! We need Reagan! Reagan showed us how to do it!"

I mean you can't even talk with him without him complaining about Obama and how he's destroying America!

I say well just try to think about something else. Get your mind off of it. He says, "How can I? My freedoms and liberties are at stake! He's trying to take away everything I have!"

Guys he tells me that there is no way that Obama will get re-elected as bad as he is. It just will not happen. But if Obama does get re-elected I think my friend is actually going to go insane. I think he will need mental help.

Any advice would be appreciative. lol.

Your friend is already insane. Here's what you should do: Spank him, then move on.

While supporting a "conservative" agenda that preaches "less government" while attempting to regulate what two consenting adults of the same sex do within the privacy of their bedrooms, or their equality as Americans to volunteer to do a job that they themselves would never consider, especially when it comes to putting their own lives into harms way.

:rotflmao:

I've always found it ironic that the very fears that those who listen religiously to "talk radio" and "conservative" news channels can't see that they themselves are pawns to enabling the reality of their the very thing that they're being taught to MOST FEAR.

When he begins his drivel, give him a blank stare, then walk away. If you are sitting at your desk, turn away from him and start working on something. Don't say a word. He will get the idea quickly that you have no interest in what he is saying.

Ah yes. Rushthink and Foxthink. So much better than having intelligent, elected leaders provide guidance on how to build and maintain an great nation.

So much better to have the fundie 'christian' right determining for all of us how we should live and directing the elected government on policy.

Way, way better that Wall Street should be in charge of the economy and tell us why it is good for everyone on earth. Look at how they helped the US and the world into the worst recession in 80 years.

And thank goodness that Halliburton was there to determine foreign policy and convince the people that war made good economic sense. Thank goodness that they helped ensure that Americans would become prisoners in their own fortress America.

Thank goodness that Beck is there to whip the mouthbreathers into a frenzy so that he can sell gold.

Not bad.

Just pretend he isn't there, whenever the "drivel" begins.
