my hair wont stay up

I can't get my hair to stay up. it looks okay when I use gel, but after some time it saggs down like its too heavy. any advice?

Four words,

There's Something About Mary.

what about just cutting it a bit? shorter hair = less weigh, better standing up ;)

i always find a combination of wax and GHD hair straighteners always does the trick :)

use hair glue it works best for spiky hair. I use Ice Spiker by Joico you can get it in a salon or beauty supply store.

i agree. i use to twist my hair out and jcrew fiber and hair glue worked the best. even when i went to wash it out it took at least 25 seconds for the water to actually wet my head! the water would just roll off! try those two things together it will hold your hair up.gels are not thick enough.

In the words of Sir Isaac Newton (if he had gone to beauty school) ---

"DON'T FIGHT YOUR HAIR"

Are you going for a Billy-Idol, short-crop, spikey look, or a Patty LaBelle, award-show, tall-crested look?

At any rate, flat hair may be attributed to whatever random directions your follicles are pointing, or poor health along the hair shafts, or the simple fact of having fine hair.

First, I'd go ahead and make any necessary changes to your diet, to be sure your taking sufficient amounts of vitamins, minerals, and proteins.

Then I'd recommend washing your hair thoroughly to purge out all the tiny debris trapped between its cuticle cells. A basic shampoo will work best, with no harsh cleansers, or perfumes, or coloring. Make sure your hair's "squeaky clean."

IMMEDIATELY, while it's still damp, use a leave-in conditioning/revitalizing treatment, the kind that calls for wrapping the head in a hot wet towel. (tip: wrap a dry second towel around that one to conserve heat.) Simple mayonnaise has been known to work for some

After the prescribed time, simply rinse out the conditioning/revitalizing treatment, towel dry (no blowers), and lay off the styling product until getting a haircut as soon as possible.

In the salon seat, I leave it to a professional to examine your hair closely to tell you what's what. They might know a suitable kind of shampoo and conditioner for you to use regularly after that to maximize body.

you need straightening gel by scruples, awesome stuff, when my hair gets wet by a palmade or something or too much gel it gets heavy and kind of curls. So thats what I use and its perfect.

That's because gel sucks. Use wax (that's what I use)! ;)

OR ELSE...

....for the ULTIMATE hair gel, try this ---

1 (one) cup humus made from MAGIC BEANS, stir in 3 (three) tablespoons of powdered RED KRYPTONITE, then add 2 (two) tablespoons of UNICORN SEMEN and fold the mixture together.

Let sit for 10 minutes, then "scrunch" into hair and style.

(Should baldness, bizarre multi-coloration, or dramatic mood swings occur, discontinue use.)

[end sacrcasm]

What is WRONG with you people? Is your furniture held together with duct tape?

Though a root perm would add body and lift, no styling product can indefinitely support a hair frame that doesn't have the knees to walk upright.

After washing, revitalizing, and a professional cut, even pure aloe vera should do the trick for getting hair to "stay up"

Try some fibre-based products. Gel sucks.

Otherwise, use a light hair styling cream and some hair spray. It does the trick for me and it doesn't weigh my hair down!

I use Bed Heads' Creative Genius Sculpting Liquid and their Hard Head hairspray........that combination is impenetrable! LOL

I know the problem... gel helps, but only for half an hour or so...
my hair is the worst, once I even used a curling iron (for an 80's costume party) and it did nothing. we used it at the highest setting for twice the time you should normally use it, and it had no effect. I hate my hair

I suggest that you get a product called Short Sexy Hair Hard-Up Gel. It is awesome, I used to use Spiker Ice. Switched to this because it was easier to clean off hands, and it works longer and harder. I use it in the morning work it hard all day, and sleep with it on some really rough nites and it is still standing the next morning. Great product......|

I have the opposite problem, my hair wont stay down. I had shrot air and spiked it but then some crazy mexican lady didnt cut it right so I jsut let it grow out.

And now when it swindy my hair wont staydown. And I kow someone will say that thats what happens in the win, but I notice other peoples hair not go crazy and look like someone took a leafblower to your head.

I dont want to add anything to myhair cause I fear it will make my hair fall out since I use to put so much crap in it.
