  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

My life is about to change . . . big time

here's that slaughterhouse job . . .

Position Responsibilities:

· Slaughter livestock using stunning devices and knives.

· Skin, clean and trim carcasses.

· Remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.

· Split carcasses into smaller portions for further cutting, processing and packaging.

· Remove bones from meat.

· Cut and package meat for commercial use.

· Ensure work areas are clean and compliant with all food safety and hygiene standards.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The truth often hurts unfortunately.

Why don't you concentrate your search on jobs you'd actually be prepared to do and in areas you'd be prepared to live. It seems you've adopted a scattergun approach which has led to you turning down at least a dozen possible positions for one reason or another. Good luck with Saturday's interview.

I got a job today.
It is making sausages and meat pies for a company. He's busy and he needed more help. Good pay. The commute is 90 minutes. But I want to move to that area of the city (Burnaby)
I start tomorrow
;-)

Congratulations. I hope it works out for you.

Well . . .

I decided that it was too far to travel (90 minutes each way) and I declined the job

I continue to look for a more appropriate job

I start a new job later this week. It is packing lighting. It pays well ($2 more than the jobs I was looking at).

My anxiety has gotten worse. I went to the corner store and my legs were shakey. I took a cab home because I didnt think I could walk the two (longer) blocks. I think I will have to call the man and cancel going to the job.
I see my doctor Tuesday, just by chance. I think I should take Xanax (zan axe) but the College of Medicine in Canada think Xanax is a 'dirty drug' even though it is allowed in the US.

I'm concerned that your options are becoming limited for relocation.

Have you planned for the possibility that you won't work after all and will have to deal with what comes?

I still recoomend that you also contact social housing providers before you run out of time to plan properly for relocation. You are pinning everything on a new job, yet are declining them and dealing with anxiety issues. Ignore me as you wish, but the advice is good.

Anxiety about what, exactly? I'm guessing you have GAD (General Anxiety Disorder). If too personal, ignore.

By the way, work by its general nature is to an extent anxiety inducing. It's part of working life. I mean, work not like being at home eating bon bons while vegging out on the sofa.

- youre right. Im pinning everything on the job.

Ive realized that I have an inner saboteur. It sabotages me. I said I had a job but part of me thought it wouldnt happen. I dont feel good as a person. Im not comfortable in my own skin.
