  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

My local gas price is now 1.99. What's yours?

21 cents per gallon.

No wait. That was 1946

Get the hell off my lawn!

This morning I was out and I think that the one station, usually lower than others, was down to $3.47, but I'm not sure, I do remember that another station was at $3.42, which is pretty low. They often get a new order of gas in later on Tuesday and lower the prices before to try to empty their tanks before they refill them. It is possible that the prices will go up 20 cents by the end of the day. I don't really need gas right now, but wonder if I should just top off.

Yesterday I paid $3.55 p/gallon with 10 cent loyalty discount

My History:
2023-8 $3.24 with 20 cent discount
2022-10 $3.05 with 30 cent discount
2022-9 $3.55 with 30 cent discount
2022-8 $4.99 with 3 cent discount
2022-3 $3.60 with 3 cent discount
2021-4 $3.69 with 10 cent loyalty discount

I'm payinig between $4.29 and $4.79 for premium for the sedan. It has about 158k on it and is German, so I don't have the guts to put mid-grade in it.

I pay about $4.99 for ethanol-free gas about one a quarter to fuel my mowers & tiller & power washer & chainsaw.

The truck is a 1995 F150, so it does fine on low-grade, which is all over the place.

I really stopped watching gas prices about a decade ago when I realize how little they affect my budget. News bureaus like to blather on about them, and how they affect the price of everrything, but my prices never fluctuated significantly for what I buy, so that was not relevant to me.

And I don't buy lots of gas, so I don't give a rat's ass if it goes up by $5 or $10 a tank, as most of us buy junk food or drink to that tune in one stop. People like to freak about gas. I'm out of that.

My History:

2023-9 $3.65 p/gallon before 10 cent discount
2023-8 $3.24 with 20 cent discount
2022-10 $3.05 with 30 cent discount
2022-9 $3.55 with 30 cent discount
2022-8 $4.99 with 3 cent discount
2022-3 $3.60 with 3 cent discount
2021-4 $3.69 with 10 cent loyalty discount
On 10/30/2023 I paid $3.29 p/gallon before 40 cent discount.

Today our gas price is $3.07 per gallon. That is lower than it has been for awhile.

Today our gas is $3.29 per gallon, yesterday it was $3.07. It went up 22 cents in 24 hours.

$3.07 per gallon. But some stations here are $3.39 per gallon.

Saw $4.09 at the discount place yesterday; non-ethanol is $5.19.

I've been getting thirty-five cents off per gallon; I need to call the store's HQ and find out what's going on because by the stated rules my last fill-up should have gotten $1.10 off per gallon based on my spending.
If I can get that straightened out I should see if I can make my monthly payments for my new double-pane windows with that store's card; that should get me $125 off per gallon every month for a while!

Yesterday I paid $2.74 p/gal before 30 cent rewards discount. WooHoo the price has fallen 56 cents in the last 45 days.

I paid $2.86 per gallon at Wawa yesterday. It was lower than the $2.99 per gallon I paid last week at RaceTrac in Land O Lakes, just north of Tampa, last week. Yesterday's price was all the more remarkable, because for some reason gas is consistently cheaper in Tampa than South Florida.
