  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

My local gas price is now 1.99. What's yours?

$3.59 from $2.79 last week.IMG_1732.jpeg

hahahahahahahahaha

Nice one Trump.

A payday for the oil companies who are laughing with our money all the way to bonuses and payouts to the high tier shareholders.

The only good news is that the high price of gas might finally be what drives the moderate conservative voters to vote aganst the repubs or stay home...although experience tells us that all they are going to do is blame it on Biden and Obama.

Got you all beat! My wife paid $3.19 per Gallon yesterday, a few days after bombs falling on Iran, Washington reported $5.59 per Gallon.
Hold on to your hats, fellas, we are in for it! Oil up your bike chains!

I bought gas at Costco on Sunday at what now seems to be a bargain at $3.15 per gallon, during the weekend when local prices were pretty consistent at $3.49 per gallon. By yesterday they were running at $3.79, and I even saw $3.89 at one place.

For comparison I found the receipt for my last gas purchase on Feb. 22, at the same Costco. Then I paid $2.63 per gallon.

The price above was Nov. 13. A couple days ago I paid $2.39 p/gal (before rewards discount of 10 cents p/gal).
I bought 2 days ago and paid $2.79 (before my 10 cent p/gallon rewards discount). I don't really know why Kansas seems to stay lower priced. We are not known for having oil wells. I'm pretty sure we have more wind turbines in this State than we have oil wells. No oil refineries that i know of.

This morning I drove past a Wawa gas station at 9:30, where the price was $3.68 per gallon. When I drove past the same gas station three hours later, the price had risen to $3.99 per gallon.

Jesus Christ in a cracker.

Thanks to the US popping off in Iran, we are now paying $1.65 per litre.

So to all the people who couldn't figure out why Canadains might be invested in who US voters selected.....well, besides the direct threats to our soverignty....we are pissed.

$5.25 at Costco - $5.79 at Shell - many inner city stations are even higher.

Sorry - Southern California - Los Angeles area
I got fuel 10 days ago. I see that the price today has gone down 1 cent to $2.78. Your local price is over twice our area's price. We don't have any oil or gas refineries in this State as far as I know. So our fuel is mostly trucked in from Texas and Oklahome to all over the State. California is bigger than Kansas, but we are still a pretty large state in the middle of nowhere.

I assume that California gets oil tanker ships coming to your State's ports. Seems like if it is refined in your State, your fuel price should be much lower than ours. Who is ripping off California customers???? Oil companies or your government?

Fuel tax rates differ across states. Commercial interstate traffic, such as trucks and trains, is subject to taxation based on the jurisdiction where the fuel was consumed rather than where it was purchased. States employ different strategies when determining fuel tax rates. Current gasoline excise taxes appear on the map below.

A lot of it is that in California we have a different formula for gas much of the year - one that burns cleaner but costs more. I was not here but when you look at Los Angeles in the 70's and see all the smog I don't mind paying more for gas.

HOWEVER - our gas taxes are crazy and I do think they are a rip off because they are supposed to use the money to keep up the roads and always spend it on something else!
