My older sister should have been making Easter dinner today.

Instead, she was making funeral arrangements for her eldest daughter.

My first niece was born on April Fools Day in 1963, the day she made me an uncle when I was 12. She died suddenly yesterday. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, but we suspect it was heart related. (She was treated for heart issues last summer.

She was born 59 years ago and, it being April Fools day, we didn't believe it. I'm having great difficulty believing that she's gone. It's not supposed to happen this way.
