My Partners Mother Passed....

Once again, I thank all of you for your input on this..

The service was this morning, and after much thought I felt I most definatly belonged there, mainly to support Drake.

I'm so glad that I went, I know that it meant a great deal to my partner and his family was a class act. They treated me with kindness and respect. I feel that after three years of being with Drake, that I'am part of the family, and today proved that they feel the same way, and accept our relationship.

I'm worried about Drake, its hard enough to lose your mother, but when your mother was never able to accept you, makes it that much harder. Now the healing begins for my love, and I will be here, beside him thru the entire process.

I missed your original post, but would have recommended that you go, and I'm glad you did. Even better, are the feelings that you came back with. Drake is lucky to find a catch like you, and his remaining relatives seem to be diamonds in a world full of coal. I'm sure you'll all be able to help each other over this rough time.

It's hard to realize that sometimes, things don't go the way you would like, and I'm sure that Drake's family - and that includes you - will help him come to terms with that. Good luck to you all.
