Okay. I was trying to put a video onto my mp3 player but when I attempted to do so, it gave me a message that went something like this:

Error: Unable to download file. This video does not match the playback capability of this player. The Video Converter cannot convert this video into a suitable format because the DirectShow codec required is not installed on this system.

What the HELL does that mean and how can I go about downloading this DirectShow codec; I REALLY wantto watch this movie sometime soon (It's Donnie Darko, btw.)

I had no idea where to post it so I guess it's alright here.

DirectShow codec are available in PowerDVD or at K-Lite. If you google you can get a stand-alone copy of DirectShow codec

I downloaded the k lite pack and it still doesn't work. I'm running out of options here.

:( :( :( :( :(

Come to think about it I had this problem recently and I downloaded ffmpeg codec and it fixed the problem. DirectShow codec is made up of 3 codec's from memory

If he is trying to put it onto an MP3 player, isn't he going to have to convert it to something first? I don't have an MP3 player so i don't exactly know how those work, but it seems like that's what he's going to have to do? wouldn't installing k-lite or ffmeg only work if the video he wanted to play was going to be done from his computer?
