My Roommates Secret!

you invaded his privacy by being a noisy queen. You have no shame. [-X

How could you break the trust you have a friends. If I had a roommate like you either you'd be gone or I would be gone.

No one should ever look into someone personals things.

My b/f and I have been together for 24 years and we dont go into each others wallet's, computor's or drawers. We have 1000% trust in each other and we dont have to play your childish games.

you need to get a life. you got the balls to sneak in and look , now have the balls and tell him what you did. I bet he wont like it very much
well jeez, you act like he killed his first born son or something. What he did was wrong, but christ....

Umm as far as you know he could of done it genius without you knowing! That is what exactly this guy is posting about him finding something out without the other peson knowing. So as far as it goes for you he could have some dirt on you that he never spoke of before!

Just tell him you wanna ride that pole, till you both shoot!

Amen to those that don't condone this, I might be gay, but that doesn't mean I have to accept anyone's behavior, it's not an excuse to through out all courtesy or common sense.

And yes, things look pretty good up here. You all should join me.

LOL. I love all the uptight responses on here. So what he went through his history? He didn't print out nude pics of his friend from his computer and post them around town. If you are all so ashamed of what your doing on the computer than maybe you shouldn't be doing it. I still can't believe all he did was browse a history and gets chewed out on here. Anyway, take him out for drinks and start flirting. Bring up gay men and try to slip in if he ever or tell him you did stuff at summer camp and it felt really good. He was looking at all the prim gay sites so he's ready for some ass play.

WOW I would hate to be most of y'all friends here. Its not like he look for his credit card number. I always go through friends personal stuff and they go through mines. Its trust

Or ask him can i use your computer and then after you use it ask him why you have gay sites on it.

So I just wanted to ask all of you, how to go about starting stuff with him??(!)

You need to get a life. you got the balls to sneak in and look , now have the balls and tell him what you did. I bet he wont like it very much

This guy is clearly in the delema about whether it's necessary to be gay to do 'stuff' with other guys. He likely thinks that he'll have to listen to Judy Garland records and buy a leather harness. He's probably afraid of being accepted for who he is.

Sweetaadmi, you obviously aren't the 'gay' type, if too closeted to trust, but I think you could find a way to let your soon to be ex-roomate what it looks like to do 'stuff' with other guys without becoming a stereotype, (Circuit Queen, etc)

Try telling him about yourself and your feelings. And be sure to tell him you couldn't help yourself to his laptop because you think he's really great guy and you're attracted to him, for now.

On the face of it, it seemed reasonable to be quick to condemn SWEETaadmi's looking at his friend's Internet history as bad. But he was NOT asking for judgement and condemnation -- if he wanted that he would have been born black, gay, Jewish, handicapped? Jeesh.. sometimes people who are discriminated against can be the most discriminatory.

It might help to ask better questions of Sweetaadmi if you really want to help him out. Look at his other posts (if they exist) or check out his profile (incomplete or what it says about his self-confidence and personal esteem) before jumping on the 'burn the witch' bandwagon or run to defend him too.

By the way, are we sure that SWEETaadmi's initial purpose was deliberately going through his roommate's Internet history? Most people who condemned him must have assumed his ill intent and consequent actions were carefully planned. He didn't explain how he actually saw those sites or why he was curious enough to check for that in the first place.

Were there other 'indications' t from his roomie that might have given him a clue or some strong (or weak) signals that his he is/was hiding his curiousity for gay sex (or actually is gay).

I'm not condoning invading someone's privacy - but leaving a computer out for 'some' roommates is just being open and sharing (at least for some that have a 'family' type live-together situation -- it depends on the 'history' of their relationship. Some roomies share clothes, food / beer/wine, CDs, towels, and computers and even playmates and sex partners....
Leaving the PC open and running without clearing the history or shutting it down with password protection could be interpreted as an open invitation or at least silent consent to use the PC (unless you've heard otherwise).

One of my str8 friends and I were once using my computer (I was with him) in front of it) and he tried a Google search. Since I did not have Google search set to clear each time, my 'history' of search words popped up when he type the first letter 'g' - we were both looking at the screen. Some clearly 'gay' oriented topic appeared as selectable search items, it wasn't quite clear how much he realized or what conclusions he drew. But I just kept talking and moved on.

Also, when you start typing the URL in some browers, it auto-fills with most recent the Internet address with same first letter. So even without deliberately 'snooping' a person may accidently arrive at a website that the owner has visited recently.

I don't think SWEETaadmi should admit (at first) that he saw those sites on his roommate's PC. His friend might be upset and for good reason. Even if his roomie's forgiving for the way SWeetaadmi found those sites, he may use it as a tool to try to get rid what might be really bothering him - deflect the issue as a privacy issue when he's just avoiding admit his sexuality.

Since this is the Straight and Bi-Dudes forum couldn't we get a little more 'latitude with the attitude' - in dealing with issues where people are either bi-curious or admitting to being curious about someone else's sexual preferences.

It helps when the person doing the posting gets at least SOME understanding voice - but the ones they hear the LOUDEST are the negative, condemning ones. It's no wonder that he only made one other response (one day later) after his initial post - however, the 'debate' and 'advice' have gone for more than two weeks.

I also had a roommate in college who I thought was gay. Mostly everyone did but he always denied it and got upset when someone asked if he was gay....well he had sex with a girl but one day i was using his computer and found gay sites on his computer history...and i think he had a membership to them...so straight? no don't think so!....as far as i know he hasn't come out of the closet yet..

Pretty rude of you to go snooping through his history.

And what makes you think just because he might be gay that he wants to do anything with you?

[B]Nothing worse than a snoop of a roommate.

what a sleaze ball that has to invades someone private belongings.

Then blame it on them " oh he left his lap top open and on the internet"

since you had the balls to look and his private property, when he comes home lets see if you have the balls to tell him what you did.

what a low life. get a life

and if he is gay: what chip on your shoulder says he would want to do anything with with you the SNOOP

#-o That is just evil to play Nancy Drew and go snooping!!! Looking into someones medicine Cabinet & onto a computer is 2 different things! If you did that to me I would be pissed and move out!

That's the truth!!!! My wife saw JUB on my laptop one day like that. My sexuality does not come as a surprise to her, I have always been honest with her. But nonetheless, she was not too happy with me...

You know he is gay or bi...just don't mention the history and come out to him.

... be prepared to say something like 'Fucking tv sucks, there nothing on man'... or whatever you might spout off to him randomly. Just act like it never happened.

I believe the phrase you're looking for is, "I can't believe I was so drunk" :)

It amazes me how much integrity people lack. Trust is something that is earned through having faith that someone will respect your privacy - things that you hold personally sacred. You don't have trust in someone who is making that violation!

...but to each his own I guess.

My roommate this past year in college (my first) snuck through my laptop, luckily I have a password when you open the screen. He didn't get in, but I definitely let his friends know that he's a sneaky person and not really able to be trusted.

I caught him a few more times trying to touch my stuff or use my ipod/tv/ etc. His friends called him out, and I don't talk to him anymore.
