In all seriousness your sister would annoy the crap out of me. There is no way to rationally answer them questions for that kind of person to understand, they just never see another view point and refuse to accept what other people say.

You could tell her homosexuality has existed forever, if the bible said it's wrong then it existed way back then so it's obviously not a new thing. And then there tonnes of scientific studies and evidence that says it's probably genetic and determined before birth, though I doubt she'll believe that because science isn't God.

And if you want just fight dumb outdated Bible rule with dumb outdated Bible rule like saying "I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is to keep silent." Timothy 2:11, that'll shut her up :D

At the end of the day she won't change, so don't make her. Just do what you wanna do and let her do what she wants, though if being homosexual is genetic I'd be worried for her kids.

Millions of people throughout history who have had no belief in a specific "god" have yet managed to come up with a set of moral standards they've managed to follow, with greater or lesser success.

Conversely, millions of people throughout history who have had a belief in a specific "god" have still managed to commit some pretty heinous acts, along with petty breaking of the everyday moral code.

There are honest, law-abiding atheists. There are believing thieves.

Logic and reason are the main sources of true morality. Where as the Abrahamic religions teach blind obedience. After all her book allows for genocide of certain racial groups, religious intolerance etc.

Homosexuality is a natural Biological trait that is found in nearly all species as a means to prevent overpopulation as well as to provide extra parents to children. You should tell her that there are even all female, all lesbian species such as the Whiptail Lizards that reproduce through parthenogenesis. The women even mate with each other to stimulate ovation.

Also actually the majority of them were in the closet. When you make homosexuality a legal and societal taboo less gays are willing to come out.

As for crime, crime is mainly a result of our permissive society namely the Christian idea that we must be our brother's keeper and people basically coddle people who are garbage and do not reward the elite and intelligent people. You see this in schools where everyone is supposed to be kept at the same level and the ones that struggle are put in the same place as the ones who are mentally gifted. Plus in my experience in school the thugs and the bullies are hardly ever punished and again they are coddled.

Also as for crime Japan for instance is mostly Atheist and Pagan and yet they have a far lower crime rate then we do. Violent crime is unheard of and an example at how safe they are. In jewelry stores they basically leave jewelry uncovered. You can try them on and everything and no one takes them. You try that in Christian America and the whole store would be lifted.

We've seen the results of blindly following the precepts of a book. Just because homosexuality might not be mentioned in the bible it doesn't mean homosexuals are wicked or against values and God. I'd say most gay people just want to be left alone. If anyone is "destroying society", it's right-wing religious folks working to force their views on everyone else.

I'd also say that anyone who sees gays as a huge threat is "ruled by ... sex organs" -- but they're fixated on other people's sex organs rather than their own.

Maybe if she stopped worrying about other people's sex organs she'd be calmer and happier.

Actually statistically the societies which are the more sexually liberal and pro gay do better then conservative sexually puritanical ones. Pretty much the greatest societies in the ancient world had gay stuff freely going on. However I am interested to hear her response on gay animals and how crime free Atheist and Pagan Japan is. The Japanese even in their media make series that are critical of the Abrahamic religions. The Abrahamic god is a villain on series like Angel Sanctuary and Shin Megami Tensei. You have games like Final Fantasy 10 which have veiled critiques against the Abrahamic religion. Final Fantasy 10 rails heavily against the Abrahamic conception of god as well as original sin.
