"My Tram Experience" -- Racist Rant

Barely coherent enough to qualify as a rant. As if she isn't what's wrong with her country.

When I read the thread title I was hoping it wasn't a Melbourne tram (sometimes I forget that other cities have trams) so I'm saddened but mildly relieved.
 
This type of racist behaviour is to be pitied.

The mother clearly has underlying challenges contributing to her bizarre outburst.

There is a much more sinister form of racist behaviour which conceals itself under the guise of rational debate, much more persuasive and, inclined to attract the support of the xenophobic person ready to blame foreigners for a nation's economic ills.
 
When I read 'tram' I just assumed it would be somewhere else in the world, as we don't have all that many trams in the UK.

I'm ashamed.
 
I feel sorry for that woman.
She must be mentally ill. A sane person wouldn't do that.

I'm not so sure. The child is hearing his mother rave like this on a regular basis and you can tell because he is unfazed by it. Her anger and racism did not originate with her either, she learned it at home and in her community. She is not bright enough to have an original thought. She spoke out of her ignorance.
She was taught to hate and is teaching her child to hate. So on and on it goes...

The BBC news report describes "a passenger abusing ethnic minority people on a south London tram".

Well, if I were sitting on that same tram seat, I would be feeling as though I were 'the ethnic minority'.
 
I was secretly hoping the guy behind her was going to bonk her on the head when he got up. Not right I know, but sometimes you just wish stupid people like that get what they deserve.:badgrin:
