** Mods, please don't move this thread into the new Holiday Life forum just yet. I'd like it to stay in Hot Topics for a while so that anybody who wants to can see it. Merci!**

It's taken me a while, but here are some pics from our trip to the UK last July. We had a ball, even though our visit was all too brief. It's such a beautiful place with so much history to absorb. We're going back again in December and then travelling to France, Italy and Greece for more holiday adventures. It'll be interesting to experience a European winter ... we're so used to baking in summer sun downunder at that time of year! :-) I took a million pics, and it was very difficult trying to choose a selection to show you, but I hope you enjoy these.

Views of Shrewsbury (in Shropshire). Pretty much our base while we were there. Gorgeous place ....

Shrewsbury was the birth place of Charles Darwin. This is the school he attended in Shrewsbury (now a public library) ...

Shrewsbury Castle ...

Formal gardens (known as 'The Dingle') within The Quarry in Shrewsbury ...

Town square ...

More pics in the next post ...

Random pics from the Cotswolds, my favourite place in England. It's like the England I'd always imagined from childhood stories and fairytales ...

Inside Windsor Castle. I risked being banished to the Tower to get these pics. ..|

Outside Windsor Castle ...

Bonnie Scotland, oh how I loved ye!!!

From the William Wallace monument in Stirling ...

Bridge Of Allan in Stirling (my favourite bridge in the UK) ...

The majestic Scottish Highlands ...

Edinburgh, my favourite city in the UK ...

Edinburgh Castle ..

More Edinburgh (coz I loved it so much! :D ) ...

I've got more to post (London, Stonehenge, Bath, Stratford, Wales etc) but I've run out of puff for now ... maybe later! ..|

Pffft, Edinburgh sucks :P

I think the places you have pictures of look amazing but even more so because of your great talent for photography!

Thanks for sharing! :D

Haha .... spoken like a true Glasgow man! ;)

We didn't get to Glasgow but I'm sure we would have loved it had we gone there! ..|

Viewing the pics you post always starts my day off the right way. You are very good .

Great, great pics!

I live in in the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, and I'm proud to see our flagship building looking so beautiful!

Great pics, man....you chose some of my favorite places! If you have not done it already, next time, visit some tiny villages, too. Have a "cuppa" in a little tea shop and a "scrumptious" piece of cake. I always love to talk with common folk as they go about their work and daily activities. Thanks, again, for some super memories of my times in the UK!

Holiday Life forum? Huh? *searches but deos not find*

Nice pics.

Yup, can't let the side down now can I? (which is odd, my Dad and Grandfather are both Burgers XD)

Yeah, you should try for it next time you're here. Some really nice places and buildings to see, especially in Summer :)

Fantastic photographs, ozguy! :=D:

You have an incredible eye! Have you considered a career in travel photography?

Ozguy, absolutely fabulous pictures :=D: You've shown just a small sample of the beauty of the UK. It's a pity our citizens don't appreciate it more, but that's probably got a lot to do with our unpredictable and lousy weather! :grrr:

Thanks for posting and I hope we'll be seeing more of your excellent photography very soon ..|

Wow .... thank you so much for the great comments, everyone. I'll get some more pics up soon.

I'd love to see more Jubbers posting pics of their travels or even just views of where they live, favourite landscapes, places etc. There's so much diversity and beauty to appreciate on this planet of ours! ..|

Thanks for pics...I really enjoyed them.

I love the pics of the old buildings. When you are from a country where most everything is so new, these are great to see.
