i wont name names, but what's up with new guys (a few 'established' members, too) posting pics of themselves and everyone assuming they're real? why does no question authenticity? why does no one ask for some kind of verification? i'm not talking about blood tests or SSNs, but something simple. the people posting pics would have cameras, right? computers, too, obviously. so how hard is it to post a pic of themselves with "JUB" written on a sheet of paper they're holding? it seems like a lot of the guys here want to believe so badly that every hot guy who shows himself off must be real that they suspend all sense of logic and healthy skepticism? has no one heard of facebook or myspace, and the ease with which one can obtain pics of other people from those sites? and then post said pics as their own? are people really that naive? :confused:
 
If they were real or fake would it really matter? You might not like someone posting fake pics but you won't be any happier if you know.

Well, I can't imagine anyone WANTING to impersonate me. And, IF I wanted to post pics that weren't me and SAY they were, I think I'd have found something better than what's up there.


And another thought is; who really cares?
 
I know who you are probably referring to, the same thing went through my mind, but I didnt have the balls to say anything in fear of being bashed.

In fact I was even thinking maybe it was a prank, that some people were posting pics of their friend on a gay forum. Who knows though!

There are a fair amount of posters whose pics I don't believe is of them---


Until proven wrong I just go along with it.
 
are you talking about the avatar pic or pics in the amateur show me your....threads?
 
In a way, it doesn't really matter, because the person is new (so you don't know him or anything), and if he puts up pictures of a hot guy, whether it's really him or not, you're still looking at a picture of a hot guy, and that's all that matters to you.

That being said, I do wish that everyone had real pics as well.

My avatar and profile pic are both really me as well if anyone was curious. They are a little old though, havent changed them since signing onto Jub the first time. The avatar pic is me on the beaches of Cartagena, Colombia (about 4 years old, damn I wanna go back!), and the profile pic is even older, taken on the infamous Jolly Roger in Barbados. (some of you may know it, it's fairly famous - a pirate ship where you dance, have fun, walk the plank etc etc and they feed you loads of booze lol) and yes I clearly got very sunburnt that day lol

anyways, that's my longer-than-I-thought-it-would-be rant full of run-on sentances ;)

I am a very hot young twink (18 year old :D) and I was sooooo tired of the pm's and comments so I posted this old guy's pic. I even hired him to pretend to be me at various JUB meets. What a sport--he even "did" stuff with some of the guys, even though he's totally str8.
 
eh. you guys are totally right that in the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter whether guys are posting fake pics or not. but still. maybe i just want to expose them? :twisted:

and FTR no one that has posted thus far was suspect. :D

funny thread, I actually never thought about that. I assume till proven wrong....or right, that everyone that posts a pic is truthful about it. guess I am naive for someone my age.
