naked male artwork in house....

You should check out etsy - https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheArtOfFelixDeon

Not sure if it's your style, but there are things out there! I think that's the new shop, there's an older shop listed on the site as well but he seems to have upgraded this year or somethin'. I believe I spotted some comic subjects too, somewhere in there, though I'm more interested in the mythical or cultural images.

If you'd like more (or less) cartoony, I've got those too. Quality can be more difficult to find in either of those directions when you're actively avoiding realism, though, I think. A lot of people seem to land on the 'it's trying for a photo-effect and just looks flat and uninspired' when they're drawing erotica - it's sad.

There's a couple more I'm fond of but I can't seem to upload the pics and I need to hunt down the addresses.

Those were pretty good, although I really only liked one or two. And the sudden juxtaposition of angry-horse-with-exposed-breast was more than a little jarring. I certainly wouldn’t mind some mythological or fantasy erotic art, either, come to think of it. I think I mentioned the dream I had about the coffee table book. That would be most welcome.

We have various nudes in the house. They aren't just figurative subjects however...the subjects of the paintings are far more complex. The genitalia, when it is shown is integral to the subject of the work.

People have found them provocative and compelling. If this is what you are thinking of hanging...go for it.

If it is just body pose art that is erotic..then you might want to keep that for your private spaces.

that Tom of Finland stuff I find creepy----I do have a Picasso print drawing with a guy with a big penis fucking a girl ---but took it down after my young niece noticed it. lol

Hey all!

Im trying to convince my husband that we should hang some naked male photos in house, but he seems to think it's weird. nothing pornographic, very classy art, that showcases the awesome male form. And also in like a more private area, like our own man cave or bed room. not just out and about where my family sees it when they comes over. why? cause why not! who doesn't like looking at naked men lol. am I crazy? Help me convince him!

Motive, you see, is everything. Both real and supposed.

Yeah, I've kind of been giving this some thought over the last day or so. "I like looking at this" has to be, what, at least 80% of the motivation for putting art on the walls (or bookshelves). And the other 20% is some version of "but what would the neighbors think?"

Back when I was an especially horny gargoyle in my mid-20s, I had a (well-done) drawing of a guy getting a blowjob from another hung up on my wall. But it was strategically placed behind the front door, so if somebody came in briefly (which is all anybody ever did), they wouldn't see it. So the 80% was me putting it on the wall, and the other 20% was WHERE I put it on the wall.

Now? I wouldn't have that up. Not that I don't think my neighbors and friends think I'm into guy giving blowjobs anymore, but because I don't they'd want to see it. It's almost like a balancing act - how much of what I'm REALLY into can I display on the walls without having company feeling uncomfortable about it?

I missed the angry horse, sorry about that. His stuff gets switched for new fairly frequently. Lookin' closer, I think there's more women than the last few times I've checked so I 'spect several of the guys have been bought (along with a solo werewolf, knew I should've saved it for my screensaver).

I mean, I do have a couple erotic coffee table books but I don't think they're quite what you're looking for but then, I've been meaning to scarper off with another myself for a couple years now.

Top of my head, James Bidgood had some interesting fantasy sets and beautifully composed figures - the color use alone give me itchy fingers and I'm not usually one for photographic work (find most of what I see uninspired and obviously derivative).

For cartoons, though, I'm still lookin' for a comprehensive work 'stead of one with a mix in subject matter.

You Anglos have a truly sick problem with genitals... even with nudity, in the worst cases.

That's one of the diseases that The Free share with the rest of barbarians in the world.

My entire home has nudes all over. From paintings to drawings to statues, etc.

I have only had a couple people say something.

^ Yeah, but you live in Salem: it's only normal to be possessed by the devil down or up there, but what excuse would have anyone living anywhere else?

Wrong Salem

He didn't specify (they are both the same... are there more than two in thwe US?): if people start talking about "Trump", I won't assume they are talking about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_(video_game_player)

Most Americans think "Oregon" when they see Salem listed as a city. Its population is about four times the one in Massachusetts. I realize that's American bias again, but there you be.

MMm... no: actually, we foreign barbarians learn the one in Oregon from the maps, and then we are rather confused when we first learn about Anglo witches on the Pacific coast during the XVIIth century.

Well I know there is one in Ohio too. Every state probably has one.

Pfffft... what's the point of having ten dozens of towns called the same in the same country..?

Yes, but whatever happened to the Jebusites?

Male nudes in sculpture, painting and photography only became an issue during the 20th century. Previously you wouldn't have needed to ask the question.

I have a number of drawings and a few photographs, a pastel and a linocut from 15-20 years ago when I was posing nude for art classes and artist friends. Some of them are really good, and I'd like to frame and hang a few of the drawings--works of some substance, forgetting that I'm the subject--but I haven't done so because it would seem egotistical and narcissistic. I am, but I'd be embarrassed to advertise it.
