Roland is right -- it's fear.

But it should be the sort of fear I had my first time skydiving: any rational human being is going to be scared, stepping out into thin air at 5,000 feet above ground level. I was. But I was also so eager they had to hold me back till the proper exit moment -- I wanted out into the sky!
