August 1st 2018 the National Comedy Center will have its grad opening in Jamestown NY. This was idea developed by Jamestown's one and only Lucille Ball. The center is interactive story of comedy and number comics of donated materials to center including Lenny Bruce and George Carlin. August 1-5 will also be the annual Lucy Festival.
 
I heard about this on the news. I know it is where Lucille Ball is from, but it is a shame it is not in a better place where more people would visit like LA or NYC.
 
This was dream of Lucy since early 1980's have the Center in her home town. She was working on the project but her untimely death put halt on the project. Some local individuals working with her daughter made her dream a reality. The Center is interactive with wealth of comedic history. Check out National Comedy Website.

I think it’s a great idea! You can learn a lot about a culture by what they find funny.

For example, i recently found out the Russians have their own version of The Nanny called My Fair Nanny and although the characters are the same, the comedy is completely different
