Not unexpected.
This Government seems to specialise in floating ideas to see what the reaction is then shelve them when there is too loud a dissent.
Rachel from Accounts is a specialist in this misinformation leakage.
It was always going to be unworkable if the idea was to stop the illegal migrants working. Anyone who employs them is hardly likely to check their legality to work
