Well, let's try using some other cultures to see how'd that fly.
If it were St. Partricks Day and she had posted a menu that said, "In Honor of St. Patrick's Day: Corned Beef, cabbage and potatoes" would that be bad?
If it were Columbus Day and she had posted a menu that said, "In Honor of Columbus Day: Spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli and red sauce" would that be bad?
And finally for Cinqo de Mayo she posted a menu honoring that day to include tacos, burritos and churros. Would that be bad?
The woman's heart was certainly in the right place and I think it's a real shame when society at large has embarrassed a minority group to a point where eating fried chicken and watermelon is something to be done in the closet. Soul food is comprised of many different dishes and yes, fried chicken happens to be one of them. There's nothing wrong with that!
