Hi-We are going to London in late April and have no idea where to stay. I am hoping to find something decent for a good price can anyone help????

You could stay at the Hilton, with Paris, but this hotel is far less expensive and far more entertaining, tho' not exactly in the centre of London:

If you are on a budget, the best deal for hotels in London is Priceline.com. Check out biddingfortravel.com and betterbidding.com for tips first. I've gotten hotels from $70 - $110 per night via Priceline. Be prepared to drop some serious cash while you are in London. Its bloody expensive - especially with the exchange rate.

And after you've found yourself a hotel you (think you) like, check here for reviews of other travellers :

Basic line is : expensive is not always the best, and never ever trust flashy hotel-websites!

I had a véry pleasant stay at the Millennium Mayfair (of Polonium-210 and Russian spies-fame) not cheap but very good. Very central.

Thanks so much everyone
We found a great package deal (we will be in London a few nights then paris) with airfare staying at citadines.
Then I read some scary reviews of the citadines in London This is very difficult-it seems there are many many bad hotels in europe

I stayed at the Thistle Tower Hotel. It sits right at the Tower Bridge, on the Thames and across the street from the Tower of London. Excellent location and really nice rooms!

Last time I was in London I stayed at the Westbury on Bond Street in the West End. Personally I thought the location was great - walking distance to Oxford, Regent Street, Picadilly, Soho and the theatre district, but it was off the main drag so was quiet. Nice enough, and it seemed at least to me, reasonable. I would recommend it to anyone that doesn't have the budget to say at the Claridge. ;-)
