I know yall are tired of my big mouth, I'm caving in to a few friends and acquaintances who have encouraged me to start a podcast/youtube channel to share my thoughts on politics and social issues. Obvs the meat and potatoes are gonna be race and sexuality but I'm an American which means I have opinions on EVERYTHING. :gogirl: What kind of topics do you think need attention or black LGBT perspective?

I'm putting together some materials and a list of topics I wanna cover, here's what I've got so far:

-the male casting couch in hollywood (especially in rap and r&b)

-downlow men trauma-bonding over their hatred for women

-polite racism on the left vs violent racism on the right

-reparations and how they will benefit all communities and make everyone safer and more prosperous

-prison reform/police brutality/mass incarceration

-theory: black America would look like Wakanda today if we spent the last century building schools and hospitals instead of churches, strip clubs and sports arenas

-how corporal punishment rolled out the red carpet for domestic violence: the generation raised on "I'm only hitting you cuz I love you" now knows no other way to express or receive love

-what we can learn from drill rap

-heterosexual privilege

-children of sex abuse are merely props for homophobic politics

-how white privilege harms white people

-why white people are scared to discuss race

-LEGALIZE IT!

-why we need universal healthcare, like, yesterday

-generational vanity distorts and confuses social issues and politics

-the impact of the 1% on the environment

-the violence backdrop of american sports

-precolonial LGBT history in brown cultures

-do the elder gays resent the new generation for having more freedom of expression?

-the sabotage of black America's recovery from chattel slavery in the 18- and 1900s

-what gay men and straight men can learn from each other about consent

-legacy vs reality: bob marley was a wifebeater and MLK was a philanderer

-are fan-pages for people like R Kelly covert predator rings?

-racist trolling and rage-farming on social media: a one-way street

-the world doesn't end after the atlantic ocean, history and current events outside the US

Talk about issues, not people. There are enough Andy Cohen's in the world and none of them are of any use.

the impact of the 1% on the environment
Or better yet: How the 1% and worldwide industry get a free pass to change the climate (hell they're practically encouraged to) while the rest of us are guilted into worrying about our cArBoN fOoTpRiNt, or getting ticketed if we don't REcYcLe, have to pay a fucking dime if we want a bag to put out groceries in (....but you will..) and are left arguing with each other about electric cars. Put me on your show. I won't shut up. You'll have to throw a towel over me and shoot me with a tranquilizer dart.

LEGALIZE IT!

Yawn. It's already legal here. You just can't smoke around babies or in church or something.

It seems to me you could podcast for 5 years on the topics you've already mentioned, if you really go in depth - which I'm sure you could.

How dare you! I'm not an Andy Cohen, more like a Samantha Bee with a tan and a big peentus.

That's not stopping police from wasting resources arresting people for it. And the elephant is the room is what about the thousands of people, mostly youknowwhatcolor who have arrests on their record now and the war on drugs black people that ravaged communities of color (and taxpayers pockets)?

I never said you were! Your topics were good except for the ones which comparatively sounded like TMZ clickbait. And there were only two of them and also you totally ignored my suggestion. Who slapped your tits? Isn't that what you were asking for on this thread? Suggestions? Oh look there it is in the title. Well now you can consider yourself officially uninvited to my Steve Irwin themed sleepover this weekend.

Joke's on you, I was planning on getting drunk, breaking into your house and passing out in your living room anyway so see you at the sleepover, don't eat all the chex mix.

New topic idea, inspired by Kanye West. So I was having a twitter war with a Kanye cult member (at this point, it's a cult) and asked them how they feel about his association with Milo Yiannopoulus, seeing as how they identified as a "Christian." I assumed, stupidly, they'd be perturbed by Kanye's association with someone who openly identified as a sexual predator. Nope! It's not a problem for Mr Biblethumper. It's just like when their favorite pastor is accused of sex crimes, they bury their head in the sand.

Anyway, and this isn't a new topic by any means, but: The church is a safe haven and hiding place for pedophiles and sexual predators. THAT one's gonna ruffle some feathers. As it should. :gogirl:

Like to see you replace the annoying Joy Reid and that hairdo of hers - I’d tune in

Great topics.

I have nothing to add.

There are many people out there who thrive on hearing advice--particularly based on personal experience--on the various paths to:

Emotionally satisfying personal and familial relationships
A successful romantic relationship
A productive professional career
Financial security and independence
Life-long learning
Long-lasting health
Looking good
Breaking bad habits and establishing good ones

In other words, positive advice on what you've learned will lead to "being the best you can be."

down to the wire, kicking things off after the holidays. inspired by the brittney griner response-- "when racist wypipo and homophobic black people link arms to hate a black LGBT person"

That's a good one. That whole genre could use a little earthiness, there are a lotta grifters out there oversaturating the market with conjecture and platitutdes and, shocker, a lot of them don't practice what they preach, like this "influencer" derrick jaxn who has a youtube channel about "building healthy relationships." his wife has just filed for divorce after a long string of his infidelity. ](*,) but also :rotflmao: not funny that she's probably hurt but funny that he's been giving advice and clearly not walking the walk.

i think i could dole out a wise word or two, despite my temperamental presence here i'm actually quite even-keeled and objective when it comes to life and relationships, the name of the game is pragmatism.

did boomers sell us out? did they accept a comfortable life in exchange for screwing over future generations?

you know what's amazing and awful and terrible and awesome? the more learning you do, the more you realize you don't know shit. ](*,) doing research for some of these topics is like opening a can of worms. a bitch got her work cut out for her. :gogirl:

Did you ever get a podcast started?

An interesting topic, which is very much under the radar, could be "Why the Serenity Prayer can apply to everybody. It's not just for 12-Step programs".

The Prayer, for that matter, can easily be made into a secular version. Substitute "God, grant me..." with "I shall always strive for..."

Not quite, I've been in research mode so I can come correct with actuals and factuals, surprisingly for the first time ever the holidays haven't been a super busy time for me so I've been able to gather resources and organize everything so I can be sure to give credit where it's true/cite my sources et cetera. I'd like to start a few days after New Years so I can have time to recover from the massive hangover. :gogirl:
