I hate negotiations time! Both teams act like assholes and nothing get accomplished. 
The Board of Education decided to declare Impasse tonight rather than continue to try to work out a deal. We only have ONE point of disagreement -ONE! And the one item wasn't in their letter of negotiation, so technically we can't discuss it.

We negotiate every other year. We agreed upon a 4% raise each year, and a certain amount in teh insurance pool. Yet the district won't agree to this unless we give up our sick leave pool, which I oversee. The district feels my committee rubberstamps appplications and wants to get rid of it. Yet, when I ask for advice from Central Office, I'm always told they can't help me. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.
The Board refuses to accept any proposal unless we agree to get rid of this item.
