Years back I had surgery to correct a circumcision. For the past few months I have been getting worsening pain that I can only describe as nerve pain that starts near the surgery and goes down my inner leg and down my left leg.
Sometimes I can even feel this pain, which feels like tingling, spreading to my lower back.
After the pain subsides my muscles around the area feel sore, but the sensation of dull aching is almost constant.:(
Sometimes my foot will 'fall asleep' if I have any pressure on my left leg or have it bent for too long. Erections are painful at times. Who should I see about this, a urologist, neurologist or a pcp? What kind of treatment will they recommend? Thank you for the help.

You don't have shingles, do you? Could be a nasty side effect of the circumcision or sciatica. I'd see a neurologist about this, since they specialize in nerve problems.

By all means, see a neurologist. You cannot assume that the pain is related to the circumcision correction. Diabetes can cause symptoms such as you describe, and of course other causes.

Ah, m'a bit late to the party.

Have your pcp refer you to the neurologist. That said, your pcp will (if they're competent) do a basic strength/resistance test and also have you write down in detail how, when and what you're doing when the pain worsens and eases. And also the various permutations the pain comes in. Carry a notebook with you to describe it when it occurs (including the time of day and the temperature because yes, that also matters.) because you may be surprised - I found that it's difficult to remember details about the specifics they asked. After you've answered your doc they'll run any tests they think might need to be done before shipping you off to the neuro to rule out nerve damage.

Painful erections are gone because many sensations throughout my body are gone with it, good and bad. I went to see the neurologist today and he flat out refused to test for mercury poisoning. That is the only thing I can trace to the loss of sensations over my whole skin since I may have been exposed to heavy metal. I can barely taste anything. I told him I have higher pain threshold and lower sensitive threshold all over and that its causing severe problems for me, and he dismissed that completely without explanation. As for the nerve pain from my groin, he recommended physical therapy and did some basic reflex testing, which I already did before I went to see this doc. I am going to see a spine specialist for the back pain, this doctor really seemed intent on passing me off to a different doctor.

To be clear, there are lazy docs out there as m'sure everyone knows. I suggest not telling the doc immediately what you think might be the issue-let him ask his questions and do his tests. Towards the end they'll ask if you have anything to add-mention that you've May have been exposed to heavy metal. He'll say that he'll want and need to rule out more common things before he'll get to that test most likely, and he's right about that. But a lot of docs dislike strong opinions on medical matters for various reasons, some reasonable others much less so. That's why you ease into it. And get a second opinion! Best o'luck

The big problem with self diagnosing is that you may begin to feel or exaggerate the symptoms of the problem when they would not otherwise exist. Your symptoms of reduced taste and reduced sensation all over sound like exaggerations from something you read. Your attempt to trace the pain to circumcision also sounds physiologically doubtful or impossible. I suggest you trust your doctors opinion. Or get a second opinion, and then trust the doctors. Perhaps consider consulting a psychiatrist about possible hypochondria.
