New ‘Alien’ Movie Confirmed with Director Neill Blomkamp

Also I will note that I never saw the Assembly Cut, only the Theatrical version of the film. I'll have to watch it again when I get my hands on it.

News of Lady Gaga launching her acting career has really excited me. She should be in this movie for sure.

Also maybe pull a Star Trek to do a timeline reboot and do away with the sequels, especially Aliens 3. >>

It won't be, here he is quoted saying that he is not trying to undo the films and simply trying to make a sequel to Aliens, which is interesting to say the least and what he is going to do with that.

Also he goes over his recent film Elysium and how he feels "he fucked up" on it, if anyone is interesting in that bit too.

What women do you guys think should have a chance in this movie.

My list as follows.

Lady Gaga.
Hetti Bywater.
Courtney Kardashian.
Jeniffer Aniston.

There are more but I would love to hear what you guys think.:gogirl:

No one who actually cares about an Alien film wants any of them in a potentially good film. Thankfully Neil Blomkamp cares about the movies he makes, so none of them would come close to becoming even a consideration.

Are you sure? Hetti is a very good actress and Lady Gaga may surprise us yet.

You never know.

You picked the wrong thread to troll. Everyone here knows those are ridiculous choices just to try and derail a legitimate thread.

^ Hardly and I seriously doubt that Americans know much about Hetti which is a shame.

Lady Gaga would hardly be rubbish. My opinions are mine though and i'd rather see them, then some old bore acting.

And the male lead can be Taylor Lautner.

By "old bore" if you mean Sigourney Weaver it further proves you've never seen any of the films and how ridiculous it sounds suggesting anyone else outside of her when it is a sequel to Aliens. Especially when you're suggesting a male lead.

I was referring to the female lead. Hetti would be good for it and who hasn't seen alien movies?

I watch them but I'm hardly an Alien nerd. I corrected my mix up as resurrection above.

The movie needs a good female role and my picks are above but if you have any better than post the names.

Took the bait, I see. Others wisely have him on ignore.

Sigourney Weaver Reveals How She Learned Neill Blomkamp Would Helm a New 'Alien' Film

"I said, 'I should probably talk to Jim Cameron about that.' And he said, 'Don't talk to Jim Cameron about that, talk to me about that.'"

When news broke that Neil Blomkamp would write and direct a new Alien film — which will disregard the events of David Fincher's Alien 3 and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Alien: Resurrection — longtime fans of Ripley, as represented in Ridley Scott's Alien and James Cameron's Aliens, rejoiced. Sigourney Weaver included.

This movie is destined to be Alien in Johannesburg. Apparently Blomkamp gets a production discount for filming all his movies in his hometown.

When is the casting for this movie starting...??? Is there any news?

I'm so freaking stoked for this movie. The alien franchise is one of my favorites. And I heard somewhere the this sequel is going to ignore parts 3 and 4 and continue from Aliens.

With "Crappie" only being 30% fresh on Rottentomatoes, it's difficult to get too excited for another Blomkamp film. District 9 was good. Elysiumwas marginally good but mostly a disappointment. Crappie I haven't seen, and probably won't until cable television airs it in a couple years. The trailers never did appeal to me. So at best Blomkamp is only 1 for 3 with major films. He has his work cut out with the claims he is already making about his next film.
