I think the most I've ever spent on a pair of underwear was $50.

While I might not know the price exactly, nor what brand they were, I do know that an ex stole them. The bitch!

I have spend a lot on underwear, and I prefer Aussiebum, Fireboy and Wildt. $22.50 is not too much to spend if they do what you want. I love my Fireboy Ball Enhancers best, but to each his own.
