very nice

would love to see one of the 2013 5 euro silver collector coins when they are available too

Non-europeans will not realise how shoddy the old ones were. It was like having a scrappy piece of tissue in your wallet.

No strength or firmety about them. :-)

The designs on them are shockingly bland and uninspiring.

I think we're about to put Churchill on our £5 notes.

I slightly agree with this.

Do you think they would ever dare putting Maggie on one? :gogirl:

>I know it

I prefer if on banknotes there was great personality

I propose:

5 € :Charlemagne
10€ :Giuseppe Garibaldi or Cavour
20€ :Saints Cyril and Methodius
50€ : Otto von Bismarck
100€ : Voltaire
200€ : Napoleone Bonaparte
500€ :Adolf Hitler or Margaret Thatcher

Ultimately, the Euro is doomed ... doomed, I tell you ... doomed!

The sooner the Disunited Queendom leaves the EU the better!

In what way do you consider Adolf Hitler a great personality ?

What would make them more 'inspiring'?

Bigger numbers?

A glory hole?

:)

Being an Englishman living in France I get so annoyed about having to change my money to go home for a holiday. I always feel I am being cheated.

But then it would be ridiculous to change a whole monetary system just to make life easier for little old me. ;)

But you always had to change your money. It's just that now you change from Euros rather than Francs.

Can't they come up with more interesting designs for the notes?

Suggestion:

Why don't they make a different design for each Eurozone country and then have all 20+ variations commonly in circulation? They do that already for one side of the coins don't they? You could have a famous landmark from the country on one side, and a famous person from the country on the other. That would be really cool - you could start collecting them trying to get all countries, with common ones being France or Germany or Italy, and rarer ones being Slovenia or Lithuania or wherever.

Mercifully we don't have the wretched Euro in the UK.

You'll get no argument from me on that. ..|
