I've always thought that PAPER CURRENCY has some of the most interesting artwork of anything in the world which people are exposed to in everyday life. Usually the artwork is intricate (with the "mother of invention" here being, partially, the need to make counterfeiting difficult), there is often A LOT of historical significance and symbolism, etc.

I used to have a world currency website bookmarked, but it no longer exists. I also checked it at archive.org and the archives don't go down to the level of the actual thumbnails or pictures. The below website, when you click on a country, brings up thumbnails for the paper money from the country you've chosen, very convenient and beautiful.

I wonder if we will find any privately issued bank notes as apposed to ones issued by central banks in that list ? its certainty a link to have a look at.
