as to your questions:
it´s great in the military. deciding to join up was the best thing I ever did.
I have to add that I´m living in Germany though.
We don´t have DADT or anything similar.
If all goes well, I´m gonna be a fully-trained Marine Officer in 3 years´time.

I also visited the US in 2004, so I know the country a little.
Lived in Ohio (near Dayton) while I was there.
