New Hampshire Republicans preparing to strip gay couples of their married status

Not sure, but it's been done before successfully in several other states.

It all depends on the words.

For example, Oregon's Supreme Court (SCSO) has ruled that public nudity is protected by the state constitution, because it says "No law shall be passed restraining the free expression of opinion or restricting the right to speak, write or print freely on any subject whatsoever. The argument comes down to "expression" rather than "speech" (as in most other sates), so while SCSO says I can hitchhike naked, supreme courts in neighboring states would be looking at "speech" and demanding that it be shown that nudity constitutes speech.

I live in NH and I can tell you, there are a TON of good people (myself included) Democrats and some Republicans who are working really hard to stop this. It is not a sure thing that a veto override would go forward.

Somebody should take a page from the Occupy people: pack the halls and chamber and don't let any anti-gays take their seats.

We have an absolute asshole of a speaker. We don't call him 'Bully' O'Brien for nothing.

A member of his own caucus who is a former police officer, partially disabled in the line of duty so he needed an aisle seat, had his special seat revoked because he voted against the speaker's agenda. The man can barely life his right leg and that dick put him dead center of the chamber.

Not to mention he's had the public gallery cleared citing, "The rules are subject to the speaker. Besides, this building wasn't standing when the rule was written so it doesn't apply." I literally shit you not.

Someone should film what the former police officer goes through every day, and turn it into a commercial that explains this is what the Speaker does to those who risk their lives protecting others, and asking, "If he does this to a hero, what can the rest of us expect?"
