i phone minus the phone looks cool especially with the web browser still built in and wifi but that nano is one of the worst looking apple products ever so it looks like iriver and the like will be able to go after the flash market

might a\have to get one of those touch ipods though looks nice

i thought there already was a nano? I"m confused. I could've swore I bought my bro one for Christmas and it was tall and skinny?!

But that looks kinda cool actually. In a stumpy kinda way! LOL

I don't care for a touch screen or online.

My 30 gb ipod video is all i want. and i never watch videos on it....

goodbye to my 30gig.... Im getting the new Ipod Touch for sure!!

The iPod Touch looks really nice, especially if you don't need a phone. I.E. tied into another contract.

I'll be buying one for sure! (Stuck in an 18 month contract with Vodafone )

As much as I hate cell phones, I was drooling over the iphone. Now I can justify the itouch since it has no phone!

Actually, I'm very happy with my 30 gig video and will stay with it til it craps out, then get the itouch.

Any one pissed that Apple dropped the price of the iphone after buying one recently at full price?

I'm going to get the ipod touch to replace the 4thgen 20GB that is days from crapping out on me.

Are thay pre-order now, or are they actually shipping to the stores?

The nanos remind me of the Creative Labs Zen players. The interface looks very nice though.

i have to say i like the ipod classic myself being partial to the black finish. i know the itouch is pretty snazzy and all, but all i want is something to take my tunes in. this will be a nice step up from my current nano.

Can anybody explain why that pic says that first device is a NANO, when they're obviously is one already????

It's kinda confusing and I won't rest until I know. >___>

It's ugly is what it is...Why do i need to see the album cover? It's a nano not a Windows Media Player

I like the other nano it's small and slim and you can navigate it while driving..,touch screens can have too many problems.

With the nano the screen can freeze (sometimes) and you just click menu+select to restart it.

How do you restart something if the controls are frozen?

I hate the look of the new nano. But the original ipod does look alright judging from actual pictures (pictures in apple's website are hideous). The nano looks, bulky, and it's not sleek at all. I prefer the previous version. And, What happened to the colors?!? Why the hell are they all pastel? The colors look like the palette was straight off an easter pack of m&m's.

As for the touch, i agree it does look realllyyy sexy, and the GUI and usability which I love apple for (aside from product design) is just amazing. Thing is, I still think it's too big for me and it looks so delicate that I'd have to be all gingery with it all the time - which is really Not Me. I opt for something more rugged.

You have to see the nano in person...in photos it looks huge and awful. I just got my red 3G (third generation) nano today, and it's SO tiny! Very very thin--the dimensions are smaller than a credit card, although a little thicker, more like 2 stacked on top of each other. I have no idea why they photograph so poorly...part of it may be the lighter colors. In the dark red, it looks fantastic. It's the farthest thing from bulky you could imagine. It's an amazing miracle that something sooo thin and small can play so much music and video in such high resolution and brightness.

So don't judge the nanos until you see them in person. And don't let the lameness of some of the colors ruin the overall impact.

Delightfully good timing, Apple. Merci. I recently destroyed my nano by accident (not Apple's fault) and have been MP3 playerless for a few weeks. Touch, here I come.

I'd love to get the Touch one, but am wondering how the whole internet access works on it. As whether or not you have to sign up with a company on the spot to use the internet functions or you are just using the default settings you use to surf the net on your laptop or home computer. I know you have to pay to access the net regardless, but am wondering HOW it works and what you have to pay and so on.
Other than that I am thinking of just getting the 80 gig, as it looks pretty cool on it;s own, within my affordablity and, realistically, I would NEVER have enough songs to make full justification of buying the 160G model.

The touch iPod will be

8GB for $299
16GB for $399

That's a relatively small hard drive for something that will do so much, like crop pictures and go online and cascade album covers.

By December, they'll probably sell a 30GB for $399

Apple is screwing us. ](*,)

The touch uses flash memory. for the features and touchscreen along with other capabilities, it's a good price. the 'low' memory is due to the limitations of flash memory.

They were only advertising the 'revolutionary' new nanos six months ago. They need to stop making pointless updates to screw everyone out of cash and work on proper next gen gadgets that people won't just go 'ooh' over.
