I still got my 1972 lime green Pinto. Damn kids better watch it! I'll run all your asses over!

That color will go well with your avocado green kitchen appliances.

In the 1970s my mother had a dark blue Buick Le Sabre sedan. She drove it for more than 200,000 miles. It still ran reasonably well when she sold it.

Fair enough, but it's a dark blue small sedan, and it doesn't have any distinctive profile like a BMW, and I see VWs and Toyotas and others of the same class that are almost indistinguishable from it.

You have a point. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I feel like new cars all look pretty much the same these days! I thought it was bad in the 80s, when all GM cars looked pretty much the same. But at least Ford looked different back then.

I imagine there could be similarities with VW, certainly, since Audi is owned by VW.

And, at $13k, you'll have to agree I'm not even paying what someone does for a Versa or low-end Ford or Chevy subcompact.

True (Assuming used Audi vs. new or expensive used economy car.). Although, of course, many people probably don't think of that when they see a higher end name plate. I see a lot of $$$ nameplates in my area, and I have to wonder if some aren't bought used (to save money), but bought entirely because the name will impress.

Not a good time. I just came back from the market and it's full of cabbage's. The hatchback won't close and I think the rear springs are shot.
And I suppose the vintage "Hit me and we'll blow up together!" bumper sticker is peeling off... Sad state of affairs. Truly sad.

The last 3 vehicles I have purchased have been 1 to 3 "model" years old. I keep it 8 to 10 years. Only the last one (which as 1 model year old) I paid 3/4 of the sale price in cash. I have never leased a car but have bought 2 cars that were just off-lease (low mileage).

One of hubby's work buddies is looking, like 3 - 5 year old Golf, Mazda3 or Corolla. And as a home owner, the interest rates they're offering are just stupid and the bank doesn't wanna extend him a line of credit. So glad we bought new in Feb of 2020.
