New rules for NSFW online websites

Hi there.
First of all, if this is not the correct section of the forum to put this thread, please, some admin move it to the correct one.

I'm wondering if anyone else is thinking about this as well, but I still don't get the new legislation in EU for online websites like xhamster, xvideos or pornhub, demanding the user to have an account and identify themselves with a proove of ID to be able to watch the videos with no blur restrictions. I have been seeing on the news that it was going to be something done Sunday and that day has come in France so now you cannot watch videos on Xhamster anymore (I mean, the juicy parts of them). So I want to ask to all of you if you're thinking as well as me, that this is not gonna work, that they'll have to withdraw their new legislation because of the citizenship is not gonna accept this intrusion into their privacy.

What do you think? I'd be interested in reading your opinions. Any lawyer on the place...?

I agree the people will be upset - but as for overturning the new law will any politician want to be seen as "pro porn" by fighting the law?

I guess it won't work if people can use VPN's or access the sites outside the EU control.

Certainly VPN's are used in the US as a workaround.

In my experience it has not been a blanket blocking of porn sites. I think it all depends where they are hosted.
