Hey guys,

I just got to know there's a new Troy-Cut with another 1000+ cuts added. There's also supposed to be a couple nude-shots of Brad Pitt...like really NUDE!!!

It premiered at the Berlinale (A German Movie Festival) last month and should hit theaters or DVD pretty soon.
Does anyone have any pics of those scenes yet??? - I'm very curious about that...*|*

greets
Helix

EDIT: Just found out, that the movie is hitting theaters on April 19th. 30 min longer incl. naked Pitt ;)

When I saw Troy at the cinema Brad appeared nude in it so there's nothing new about that.

No, I was talking about really nude...like naked...read it in a couple of interviews.

Does he admit that it's not his cousin, but his lover he's off to avenege?

That's what I'm waiting for, too. As much as it pains me to miss this, and 300, I'm boycotting all historical movies that have whitewashed m2m sex out of existance. :grrr:

I know, Effortless_Pro, I really do. And I understand that it's just a movie, but I REALLY can't do it anymore. Mainstream Western society has spent too long airbrushing same sex relations out of historical record. And I just can't condone or support it anymore, no matter what the movie is about.

Which is depressing, because I really wanted to see Troy.

Surprisingly good movie. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it - but it was really compelling. Unfortunately, it was nothing like the Classical Trojan saga. But hey, who's splitting hairs.

And Brad Pitt as Achilles? Why didn't they just cast Sylvester Stallone and be done with it.

Is it true that the producers had to spend millions of dollars morphing in beefier legs on Pitt, as his were too spindly?

Also they really sugar coated that movie. 300 mentions and makes references to "boy lovers" who even were difiant in the face of the Persian empire.
It's just too bad we were reffered to in such an audacious way.

Isn't that because the Athenians had relations with other men who were really, really, really young? Like, illegal young? I'm sure I read somewhere that they only had relations with a slave when he did not yet 'grow hair'. So, yeah, if that were the case then I won't mind being a little disrespectful of the words I choose.

wait... i need a history lesson here. while i know that greek society was very fond of m2m sex... i am not aware of these so called back stories to the story of troy and 300... what's the deal?

Long story short, men on men relationshsips were even more acceptable a century ago than it is now.

If you want to talk about skimming the man-love, just watch Alexander.

Ancient Greece was more than 100 years ago!

The m2m sex was two fold in Greece. In Athens they promoted sex with younger men as part of the usheriing the young men to adulthood, they've had sex and many other things with and older man.

Since most women were treated as little more than property, Ancient Greek men developed emotional and romantic attachment with other men or prostitutes.

In Sparta was a bit different since the young men were in training together for many years without female contact, they had each other. Their elite fighting squad was comprised mainly of gay couples that fought together, since they would fight more if they wanted to save their partner.

Whoa, third person mode.

How did this thread turn from hyping Brad Pitt's man-bits to Hollywood's inability to shole out any support for mainstream cinema's depiction of same-sex relations?

Chatolandia: Hundred years, hundred more, close enough. :D

hmmm... i agree with what so many ppl in this thread said... its really disappointing how they just take out the m2m aspects of these historical movies... I know that it isn't very accepted in the world... but if they never try to push the envelope, m2m will never be accepted...

So I presume we're talking full-frontal rather than just the bare butt that was already in the movie?

I guess...at least that's what I read in the papers... *|* looking forward to it!!!

There are lots of real pictures of Pitt on the internet. I saw a whole series from a vacation that showed everything. And BTW, he looks good, but only has an average sized endowment.

only average, i'd still take that and run with it. its Brad Pitt but then again, i don't caught up in the whole size matters thing. so there's that.

Neither do I, but I think a lot of guys want to see a celebrity's cock because they think it's going to be something special and his isn't.

Nufanm : Whaddya mean ? The "300" tells the story of King Leonidas of Sparta, and his 300 loyal followers/soldiers who stood up against the thousands of soldiers of the Persian Empire. That's a historical event !! It's no "backstory" !

And "Troy" was (VERY) loosely based on the "Ilias" of Homer, a materpiece of the ancient times, that tells the story of the Trojan war in a more poetic way. While the war DID actually take place, it wasn't of course for the sake of Helena, but because the Greeks and the Trojans were fighting about who will have control of Hellispontos, the area next to Troy, because (if you look at a map, Troy used to be on the very northern end of the Turkish coast that faces the Aegean. Right over a big greek island called Lesbos) whoever controlled that territory would become extremely rich & powerful, as it was the "gateway" to and from the Black Sea (is that what it's called in English ?) and all the merchants' ships had to pass through it. If they got hold of that piece of land, they could demand high tolls for the ships that passed and become stinking rich !

Homer of course made it more epic, putting in a love story and pretty much all of the Twelve Gods taking part in the war, one way or the other.
