New TV Shows this fall? (2011)

"Ringer" looks very promising. Doesn't hurt that I have a huge gayguy-crush on Sarah Michelle Gellar and she plays 2 characters on the show.

I'm also excited to see "Grimm" and "Once Upon a Time"

New Girl looks quite funny - I love Zooey Deschanel.

Two Broke Girls, Ringer, Unforgettable and Prime Suspect are the shows I've checked out so far.

I was surprised to like Two Broke Girls, liked the first episode of Ringer (haven't seen the 2nd one yet), Unforgettable was okay. Prime Suspect was okay but they are fools for trying to use the name that ties it and invites comparisons to the original series.

Charlies Angels. It was awful. Horrible acting, horrible writing. For ratings sake, it was patronizing with its political correctness, each angel represents a different race (white, black, Hispanic) although curiously no Asian angel. These particular girls all lack any distinct personality, none of them will be memorable as the original angels were. The new Bosley is a young hot guy (who acts like he could be hiding that he is gay from the angels.)

Persons of Interest. This was good. Not great, but good. The premiere didn't have the "wow, I'm hooked" factor that Abram's Lost premiere had. Speaking of Lost, Michael Emerson practically reprises his Benjamin Linus role here. So much so, that I sometimes felt I was watching a Lost spinoff. The premise of show is cool though, it just needs a little more excitement. BTW, can someone explain to me how a tear gas grenade detonated inside a car can cause it to flip?

Just finished watching the second episode of Ringer and loved it even more than the first one. The combination of soap and crime is really intriguing and the male cast isn't bad to look at either (Kristoffer Polaha, Mike Colter, Ian Gruffudd). Great comeback for SMG!

I also started watching The Secret Circle. They started strong last week but the second episode was kind of a drag.

Revenge was okay but not as good as expected. I'm wondering how they are going to expand the plot over a whole season or possibly beyond.

Grimm could be pretty cool. Can't wait to see the first ep.

^ lol, Really? Interesting.

I do <3 Vampire Diaries and it's created by the same person. But.

It sort of looks cheesy to me. Gale Harold is on it...that does make me a little curious. I haven't seen him in anything since QAF.
I like it. It kinda reminds me of when I was a tween. It's like a cross between the movie The Craft and Dawson's Creek.

I thought you'd be happy the hispanic angel died in the first 10 min, and now there's 2 white ones and a black one. SO there's no more political correctness to limit your enjoyment.

^ Sarah Michelle Geller is just fabulous. Anyways besides Ringer I thus far enjoyed Whitney and The New Girl. Saw the Nikita season premiere and I LOVE it even more than I did before and X-Factor is also a very good show.

I just saw Prime Suspect and it is good too. It's a welcome surprise since svu will likely suck w/o Stabler

So far Ringer's the only one I'm watching. I'm actually surprised to be enjoying it as much as I am. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE me some SMG, but honestly--few of her post Buffy roles have really grabbed me.

I DVR'ed Unforgettable, Secret Circle, & Revenge, but haven't checked 'em out yet.

Definitely planning to check out Suburgatory. Never been attracted to Jeremy Sisto AT ALL, but he's looking GOOD!!!

Revenge was good enough that I will come back for more.

Charlies Angles, no thanks.

I did like New Girl.

I watched Pan Am or whatever it is called on ABC, I am undecided, the effects were kind of cheesy. I will probably watch it again to see where the story lines go.

Not new this year but last is Happy Endings, love that show.

Checked out CBS' Unforgettable. Nothing bad to say about it really, but I don't think I'd watch it regularly, if not for the ridiculously sexy Dylan Walsh(so underrated)

CW's Secret Circle was...everything I'd expect from a show on the CW. Probably keep DVR'ing it, but won't go outta my way to watch it. Always nice to see Gale Harold, and I seem to have an odd fascination with the mean girl(Fay?), but so far nothing's moved me.

So far, Ringer seems to be the only new show I've checked that's holding my attention. Why is SMG so awesome? Seriously. I love that girl, and it's weird, because I don't think I'd get along with her if I knew her personally.

^ Pan Am seems like a Mad Men knock-off. Same goes for The Playboy Club.

It's like they're only interested in the commercial success of Mad Men's look/period setting.

^^Thats what I've been thinking too. I've never seen Mad Men (just doesn't seem like something I'm interested in). I however am a little interested in the Playboy Club because of Eddie Cibrian :p and Amber Heard who I think is smoking. But there's no one of interest for me in Pan Am, so it doesn't even have any eye candy appeal to me.

I've yet to see New Girl, will probably check it out online. Seems funny enough and the guys are cute.

But I have watched a couple episodes of Secret Circle and like Willsboy84 said - everything you'd expect from a CW show. Not bad, but nothing extraordinary. And I'm SO with you on Faye! Idk what it is, but the character's a little off, but in a good-ish way lol.

Will tune in for American Horror Story tomorrow because its on FX and its supernatural themed, and I saw something about Nip/Tuck people being involved, so I'll watch it

I'm really enjoying The Secret Circle so far...more so for the parent's then the kids...but the show as a whole I'm digging.

Whitney I actually think I liked more than 2 Broke Grils(though I have enjoyed that as well)

The New Girl is my fav....Up All Night has been really great so far (both have been picked up for a full season as has Whitney)

I watched the first ep of "Ringer" but haven't tuned back in yet.

REALLLLLLLLLY looking forward to American Horror Story tomorrow!!

First Cancellation of the new season happened today: The Playboy Club

i can't believe that only after 3 episodes, The Playboy Club has been cancelled.

Revenge is my best new show of the season!

Definitely with you on that! I just hope they don't cancel it.

Person of Interest looks pretty interesting! It's got my favorite villian Michael Emerson and Jim Caviezel! It premieres October 22!

Honestly, I gave it a chance because I felt like adding another UK fantasy/supernatural show to my line-up for the fall. This, Misfits and Merlin should hold me down. It has a lot of potential so I'm going to stick with it. Give it a few more episodes. What if it turns out awesome like Misfits or Being Human?

Do apocalyptic dramas bore you in general? lol

What did you find boring about it? Just curious.

(sorry for the late reply :()

I love anything that is apocalyptic.

Well first, the characters are recycled, tired cliches.

1) (Really) mean sister, over-caring mum, "funny" black friend (a bit of wit here and there but the delivery fell flat). Distant father (they are so going to do an episode on this, probably tied to the supernatural stuff he have been experiencing)

2) Nothing about the main character appeals to me. Yeah, I know awkward geek teen who is "chosen". Ok, what's new now again?

Of course, I got all of that from the pilot. I don't know if I am comatose enough to endure the second one.

I like American Horror Story because it's different. The pilot was creepy and a bit of a mess if you ask me. Just gonna watch for Dylan.
