Well, I did it! Spent Friday afternoon at the dealership test driving, haggling, and financing a new vehicle.

Thanks to the way many of the dealerships ignored me earlier this month, I ended up at the local Ford dealership. The sales rep I'd visited with earlier this month was on vacation, so I ended up dealing with another rep and I think I ended up with a better deal than if I'd waited for her to return.

I am now the proud owner of a 2008 Ford Escape. Once I have the front yard and driveway cleaned up, I'll post some pics of it. Depending on which way the sun hits it, the color is either a metallic gray, a blue-green, or a funky shade of purple. The interior is a sagey green/tan color. I love it. My OSU plate really pops out on the front bumper as a result of the color!

:D..|:gogirl:(!)

The only way you're getting near my car is if I handcuff you... errr, ummm, I mean...

You're welcome in the house tho! ;)

Congratulations!!!! I also am the proud owner of a 2008 Ford Escape XLT, though I've had it for 2 years already (bought it in April 2007). I love it, and I'm sure you'll love it too, it's a great ride ..|.

(!)(!)(!)

huh :confused::confused: how?

^ Next year models usually start selling during the year before their title indicates since new models aren't only introduced in January of the new year. For instance if a new model comes out in April 2008, they have to call it a 2009 because there is already a 2008 on the market from the months before.

Congrats on your new Escape okstatecowboy! ..|

A vehicle's model year can be quite flexible. As long as it is sold as new during at least one day of that calendar year, it can be called that model year.

So a vehicle sold on January 2, 2009 can be called a 2010. And be called a 'new' vehicle until December 31, 2010.

I'm not the best at taking photos, but here's several views of the new car.

Depending on the light, it looks either grey, bluish-green, or purple...

Yes, it happened. The neighbors thought it was one of my relatives since they were here. After they left yesterday, I started getting the random neighbor coming over and asking if it was mine. They couldn't belive I really got rid of the neon, which I've had since 1996...

The only reminder of the neon is the OSU tag, which survived the wreck I had back in 2002... If you look closely, you'll see the damage done to it.

very fancy.....nice color, nice wheels, i really like the head and fog lights in the front. congrats, use it in good health.

The gas mileage is better than my old car. I took a trip over the weekend and got roughly 26 mpg on the highway. I'm doing about 20 in-city. Given I've only had it since 3:30 pm Friday, it will take me awhile to really get an idea of the mileage.

Sweet ride and "green" too.........

Ride and pay for it in good health and safety!(*8*)

If I were to go out to buy a vehicle, I think I'd choose Ford too.

The only US car company that didn't beg the government for a bail out.
