I also think a snowball has a better shot in Hell than he does of getting into the starting rotation for the Mets.I knowDaniel Murphy had his MRI and it reveled a Grade 2 strain of his right hamstring.
That is better news than it could have been. What it does mean is that Murphy will skip winter league ball in Puerto Rico so that he can be ready for Spring Training. He went home to Florida for now and should be fine for spring training. In fact, he will likely begin working out, doing outfield drills in Florida following the holidays.
He will be fine just needs a little rest.
I heard Omar on last nights Hot Stove say that Murphy is expected to play in left field
and not at second. That’s kinda what I wrote about yesterday and was expecting. It will give us a deeper bench with the lefty Murphy and the righty Tatis both in left field along with Chavez and Gomez.
The Mets threw a monkey wrench in yesterday when they added minor-leaguer Mike Carp to their 40-man roster,he is a first baseman but the Mets have said they want to make him into a left fielder, but I am confused by that cause the kid is not a good defensive player, although he can hit. My understanding is he’ll start the season at Triple-A next season, and play between first and left field but you can expect to see his name pop up in trade talks cause we don’t need him. Remember Mike Jacobs?
More frightening was the news that Heilman does not want to be traded, he wants to return, but wait it gets worse, he wants to be a starter.
Is he delusional, nuts or both? He also pretty much said he wants to go if he can’t start, maybe go to a team that would make him a starter.
All I can say to Aaron is, B-Bye.
Expect a lot of controversy over this; trust me there will be a lot of people who will say give him a shot.I also think a snowball has a better shot in Hell than he does of getting into the starting rotation for the Mets.
Still waiting….Where is K-Rod ????

Meanwhile in David Wright news.
David was one of the winners of Silver Slugger Award which honor the best offensive player at each position, selected by managers and coaches
David held his fourth annual ‘Do the Wright Thing’ gala Wednesday night with performances by David Cook. This event is held to benefit David’s charity foundation.
The foundation, which he founded in 2005, provides aid and assistance toward the health, emotional development, and education for children in need. Through programs and annual events, the foundation strives to enhance the quality of life for children of the New York, Tri-State, and Norfolk, VA metro areas. Any more questions about why I love his guy?

but the things he does for the community really makes him special. We are so fortunate to see this guy play here every day and represent himself and the Mets so well as a person!
I simply ran into Kevin at Keystone park during a Cyclones game and started up a conversation with him. He could not have been more gracious in giving up a few minutes of his time to talk baseball with me.
I think we need to relax a bit as far as what the Mets are gonna do. Omar usually surprises with something not on the radar, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Maybe he's just talking up Castillo to make him seem better for a trade. The Mike Carp thing is I think to protect him on the 40 man roster, and not lose him for nothing in the Rule 5 draft, which I think happens at the winter meetings. It's very possible he'll be used in a trade to an American league team as Sonny suggested. I'm sure Omar will get one of those relievers, just don't know who.
About second base, I was hoping Murphy would be the answer, but that doesn't appear to be in the cards, but a step up from Castillo is needed. I could see "Captain" Wright in the future, without knowing the clubhouse chemistry, don't know if it'll be sooner or later.

Nice, Sonny, saw pics of the clubhouse in the online version of NY Daily News this a.m. Looks like a great stadium!
Look at that drumstick!!!! YUMMY!

Great smile, guns and crotch in the first pic, great crotch and typical David Wright intensity and focus in the second.Dave can't take a bad picture!Yay, Sausy’s back
I should explain in case some of you guys did not read the post about me and Kevin Burkhardt. "The bathroom incident" is not what it sounds like (Sausy you are soo bad)I simply ran into Kevin at Keystone park during a Cyclones game and started up a conversation with him. He could not have been more gracious in giving up a few minutes of his time to talk baseball with me.
Then in the end I gotta a little second degree of separation when I shook the hand that shook the hand of David Wright.![]()
As far as the Citibank problem, Citigroup could be purchased by Goldman Sachs or JP Morgan Chase. So what happens to the $20 million over 20 years for the naming rights of the Mets new ballpark?
what I have learned is that, despite the financial state of Citigroup, a team spokesman has said all is fine with our naming rights deal for Citi Field.” So basically if Citigroup is bought, it will retain its name and the deal with the Mets will remain in tact
I have been waiting for word on K-Rod, so is his agent by the way, who is waiting for the Mets to finalize an offer.
Today I hear The Mets have targeted Seattle closer J.J. Putz as a priority.
They wanna sign him for 2009 at $5 million with an option for 2010 at $8.6 million or a $1 million buyout,Now I am sure that is a lot less than what they would pay for K-Rod or even Fuentes, but come on guvs open those wallets.
So now I dono what the fuck is going on. But I am getting very impatient with Omar, but I waited for Santana so I guess I can wait for K-Rod and Lowe.
But Omar needs to make a move. he has to agree on a deal longer than three years. K-Rod wants a five-year deal, but the Mets won’t even offer a fourth year to K-Rod or any other closer.
The other thing bugging me is Omar’s love affair with Castillo who has said he wants back and will play hard an do better than last year.
Really Luis? All of a sudden the old you is back and ready to prove your days are not over? Your knees are not gonna cave? Well tell ya what, go do that somewhere else. The Mets need a new second baseman like Hudson for example and NOT Castillo, I know, I know I have said this over and over but it’s just that every other day I hear Omar saying Castillo could be back. I am getting very frustrated by it. Now I know Castillo has three years and $18 million left on his contract, but that was a mistake and the Mets will now have to eat it rather than have him struggle and fumble around at second base.
I tell ya if Castillo comes back and falls on his ass as I know he will, the fans are gonna tear down Citi Field brick by brick. And lynch mar to the nearest tree.
Here is more DWright, cause that always makes me feel better
here is David striking a hot pose and another taking drum lessons from David Cook
