Mets Lets Go 2015
It is just getting to painful to watch. Last night shutout with just two hits was beyond comprehension.
The Braves pitcher was outstanding we knew he would be going into the game, but come on, two hits?
David Wright said last week “We stink right now” and yesterday he elaborated and expressed himself and his feelings about the team as no one else has had the courage to say. “We have got to stop talking about the injured guys, said David, and went on to say “We have to start worrying about ourselves and winning games”.
If you play the interview over a few times you get the feeling David is also asking, when are theses guys coming back? He feels as if they have been gone too long and if they are waiting till they are 100% it will be too late.
I feel David’s pain and hare his frustration because it is obvious we do not know what is going to happen with Beltran or Reyes. Reyes was looking food running and doing agility drills, like he was just about ready. But that was almost a week ago and the Mets are not saying anything about his return. It is just one day he looks great then he next, well, we will wait a little longer and then we hear nothing at all. Beltran is the same, all we get are promising reports but then he has another MRI and we here maybe he is not so good. My worry about Carlos is that the bone is not healing and that is very bad, he should be healing, unless there is something much more serious is going on which I now believe is the case.
Guys his age just don’t not heal; they get better, somethins up.
Even if those guys do come back what shape will they be in? how well will they perform?
Getting Beltran and Reyes back will not be the magic bullet this team needs to start winning, we need change now, before it is too late if it isn’t already. 80+ games to go but every day like the last two is another nail in the 2009 coffin. We kept hearing BS like, after the break things will be better, after the break this and after the break that. Well it’s after the break, now what?
Omar did say when he made the franceour/Church trade last week it wouldn't be the Met last mover before the trading deadline. We have only hints about what might be next but the Mets did release Tim Redding yesterday; they are gong to eat his $2 million guaranteed contract.
Now we hear Julio Lugo will be available, the Red Sox are trying to move him out now that Lowrie and Lowell will be coming back. Ounce he clears waivers he will be designated for assignment by the Red Sox. Word is the Mets could sign him. Lugo's been a decent hitter, but as a shortstop he sucks. Now I know there ain’t a whole lot of talent out there for us to choose from. I just can not get all that excited about getting Lugo. Just another one of Omar’s bandage on a bleeding open wound.
I will never give up as I have said before until the last strike on the last game of the Mets season, but I am perplexed as to the reason the Mets have done so little to improve this situation, and continue to hide the truth about the injuries.
I watch the Cyclones play and all I see are happy energetic faces and a team determined to win. I watch the Mets play and well…not so much.
Saucy, perhaps tomorrow I will write more about the Cyclones and your question about the future Mets players now playing on that team.
