Interesting - Newt got the "he's our man" from the New Hampshire Union Leader

Last poll has Romney at 42% (did u know he's really FROM NH??" - with Newt at 15%

The endorsement suggested things like (I'm paraphrasing)

1 - Newt's experience in fixing govt. will help him with this great challenge
2 - He's a creative and forward thinker

a good day for Newt for sure

Romney may get New Hampshire, but Newt will get the nomination, for sure. Just like I predicted a couple months ago (no bragging or anything). It just is what it is.

The polls can say what they want, but when push comes to shove, they don't translate into votes. Just like in 2008 when Romney was leading the polls and he didn't do anywhere near what people were expecting. He simply is not Conservative enough for the voters whose votes he needs to win the nomination.

Actually I hope it is Newt.

He will be such a polarizing influence that the moderates will flee from any thought of voting against an incumbent.

Well guys I am surprised that everyone in here screams that politics is controlled by money but can't follow that simple indication.

Romney will be the nomination hands down. He is out-funding Gingrich by 10 to 1.

Obama will win hands down. He is out-funding Romney by 3 to 1.

It is all in the math.

The figures also give you a good idea of who is funded by the rich.

This paper also endorsed McCain in 2008. I understand it endorsed Reagan for years, beginning in 1975. Did it endorse either or both Bushes? And.. Cain refused to interview because of the video requisite. I have read he has an interview with them soon. I wonder if it will matter much, since the paper will endorse Gingrich everyday, according to its editor. That probably means it will slam Romney everyday also, as it did in 2008. Cain?

While he was Speaker of the House:
1. Censured twice.
2. Fed. Gov. went into default.

Hey Newt, how's that "Contract [STRIKE]for[/STRIKE] on America" working out?

CHEAP SHOT WARNING:
Newt was out fucking his girlfriend while leading the pack to impeach Clinton. How creative was that?

^ waa waa

So ur psyched about the endorsement I presume?

Don't u have some terrible tragedy that u want/need to make a partisan thread about?

If he gets the nomination, Romney won't do so "hands down" at all. Also, he's not exactly "from" New Hampshire, as he's selected a vacation home in that state, from among his many choices, as his legal-residence-d'annee.

Correct. He simply has a summer home on Lake Winnipesaukee. I believe in Meridith but not 100%. It's been about 6 years since I've been up there for camp.

This is why he's just noise at the moment.

The day that the GOP runs him for prez would be the nadir of American politics.

As venal and tone deaf as the GOP puppeteers can be....they aren't so stupid as to allow this rutting pig to front their cause...unless it is only about finding the right white guy to throw under the wheels of the bus because they have already ceded 2012 and are actually perfectly happy with the team they already have occupying all three levels of government.

You misread.

Hands Down Romney IS the republican nominee AND Hands Down Obama wins....

ALL based on the cash flows. Romney is beating Gingrich 10 to 1 in finance and Obama is beating Romney 3 to 1.

Said another way Romney will be the challenge while Obama will be the winner.

Not going to happen. Romney's faith is pretty much a disqualifier as a Mormon will not be the nominee for the Party. That is a line the predominantly Christian voter base amongst the Party will simply not tolerate. Voters will tolerate those that sin, as long as they repent. Republican voters will not tolerate one with a religion that they do not recognize as a true one-- Mormonism.

Either way and regardless, Obama will win against whomever the nominee will be ... I agree.

Romney has two huge factors working against him. His faith which pisses off the Religious sector ... and his record, which makes him an enemy of the Tea Partiers. Alienating one of those groups is suicide enough ... but BOTH of them? There is no way Romney can win.

Just noise?

Sorta late in the game for that no?

Cain is shot
Perry is gone
Bachman .......

who is going to challenge/beat Romney

he's the last man standing

and he's got a decent/good chance to make it

love the "right white guy" crack [-X

there's one in every post - sort of your "signature"

cynical bullshit reigns supreme

I still go with the money. Look at the money the eventual candidates had at this point previously. It is a telling tale. There is also a reason that Romney is being shielded from scrutiny by a never ending supply of outrageous idiots from the right.

Nope I said it before and I will say it again this election is a shedding of the idiots for the republicans. They will end up with Romney and due to lack luster turnout he will lose.

Congrats Newt!

Considering Romney is a favorite son candidate (isn't New Hampshire a county within Massachusetts?), this is really big news.

Newt's intellect and wisdom will smack Obama.

Jon Meachem said today on MTP that while Obama is a "great orator" ....... he's not a "good explainer"

Basically that Pres. Obama has not connected with the american public

Please forgive me. I forgot to include Newtie making the blind to hear and the deaf to see. I think there might have been a couple of resurrections in there also. I expect Moses and Elija will be at his side in a future campaign ad.

Everything I listed happened. The truth hurts, as usual. I did not make anything up, unlike many of the Republicons who are running for public office.

I especially like the part where he declared that getting laid is very patriotic.

Endorsement or not, he's never going to be President.

Paul Paul Krugman is right: "Gingrich is what stupid people think a smart person sounds like”.

Whatever became of Newton Leroy's ethics scandal, his affairs and divorces, his government shutdown because he has to sit in the back of Air Force One? Didn't he resign being Speaker of the House too?

Newt's intellect and wisdom will smack Obama? OMFG!

LOL!!!:rotflmao:

Don't underestimate his ability to lie and sound like a scholar doing it.

But... who cares? Newspaper endorsements mean enough these days that there are more people sweeping streets with a wooden broom than swayed by them.

Good for Newt the poster child for moral and family values. To bad he does not practice what he preaches.
