Nfl 2008-2009

buffalo looked shaky today. after trent went down they should have focused on keeping marshawn going on the ground.

that deepball by losman was pretty but he can't hit anybody on the underneath routes (at least accurately).

bills are on a bye so at least edwards can recover...as long as the injury was only a concussion. i think our next game against the chargers will be a measuring stick as to where the bills stand.

it sucks they lost to arizona but i'd rather them lose to an NFC team than someone in the AFC or within our division.

I am in agreement with you. That 41-17 loss was still a heartbreaker though.

JP Losman, to be fair, was coming off the bench after getting not too much practice in. And, it appears, that he still has yet to overcome the problems that caused him to be benched in favor of Trent Edwards to begin with. He held the ball too long on most of those sacks, and he still takes too long to make the judgment of where to throw the ball. I still believe that JP will be a great QB, once he overcomes his problems.

Arizona had just come off a horrific loss last week, and they were hungry for a win at home. They got it. And to all the nay sayers that think Kurt Warner is all washed up at age 37, he's proving them wrong. He's got to stay on top of his game, because Matt Leinart is right on his tail, waiting for his chance to be starter.

Like you said, next week is the bye. They have two weeks to prepare for a home game against San Diego. Trent Edwards has two weeks to get healthy. No offense to JP, but my confidence is now in Trent. I hope that the Bills are hungry enough for a win at home. Now that they know how good it feels to be winners, I can't imagine they would want to return to what they experienced today.

yeah i think they will come out ready to play. im defintely nervous about san diego though. if you look at the bills 5 games thusfar we've only really beaten Seattle...it's good that the team is coming back to win games in the 4th (something they havn't been able to do in forever) but trailing teams like oakland and st. louis headed into the 4th has me fusterated.

if new england beats san diego next week we're tied at 4-1. i have a feeling that last home game dec. 28th against the pats is going to be for the division crown and the only available playoff spot.

yeah i know but the Bills at least took care of business...there was no doubt of the outcome headed into the 4th quarter.

I love Adrian Wilson's intensity, but it seemed like his hit on Edwards might have been excessive. I read where the NFL will be investigating. On the other hand, Losman has so much to learn, now I know why he's on the bench and that facial hair - YUCK! But Schobel - YUMYUM. The Cardinals true test is coming up next - Dallas. The Cowboys usually have the Cards number, if I had predict I would say Dallas wins, but it might be close.

JP will be a good QB someday, for another team. Like you said, he's got more learning to do. I met him twice.....That facial hair doesn't do a thing for him. He's incredible to look at when his face is shaven! And Aaron Schobel.....well, let's just say that I'd have to move this to hot topics to say what things I'd love to do with him!!!!!

I think the Cowboys will beat the Cards, but you may be right. I think it's going to be a close game.....

funny after seeing him rise and fall here in buffalo he's a canidate to head to my other favorite team...Minnesota.

like i said before he really needs to work on reading the defense and settling for the underneath routes. Hopefully for him he learns some more on the bench this season and when he signs with a new team he has stability with an offensive coordinator. He'll never be a pro bowler but with his arm under the right system I can see him being a stable starter for 5+ years.

I think he only has something like 25 starts in his career anyway. NFL is so success oriented a lot of young QB's (Alex Smith is a great example) get thrown under the bus way too fast.

Totally agree with that. Look at some of the good college QBs who have been chewed up and spit out including Joey Harrington, and David Carr. They were considered premier draft choices, and now.....

Wow! What an awesome game my cardiac Cards put me through. I was a raving lunatic throught the 4th quarter and OT. I knew if they could keep it close there was a chance.

Now, what the hell is up with Washington? Losing at home, to the Rams? Why did Holmgren decide to coach this year, are they really that bad? That Bears/Falcons game was awesome, good for them. Looks like Tom Cable isn't the answer in Oakland, is Al going to fire him too?

:grrr:

I am hopeful for the Buffalo Bills...

Trent Edwards, our talented, starting QB has been back at practice this week, and may start on Sunday against San Diego.

I am so glad that our bye week came now. It gave Trent a chance to recover.

The Chargers are really good this year....but then, so are the Bills. :D

it sucks having to watch Matt Cassel try to replace Tom Brady. Cassel is so damn panicky...

Matt's no Tommy.....

It amazes me how much of a difference there is in the Pats without Tommy at the helm. I really thought that Bellichick had built an invincible team. Tommy seems to be the glue that was holding it all together.

I know... I have a friend who is a dolphins fan, and he has been saying since 2003 that Brady is a nobody and any QB could fill in for the Pats and they would win. I haven't had the chance to ask what he thinks now, but I'd like to hear it.

A little nerve racking towards the end but the Bills did take care of business.

Too bad nobody was able to really watch it.

I heard the end of the game on the radio, on my way home from Batavia (went to the casino today).

It's too bad that so much of what was probably the Bills' best game to date was not shown because of the power outage that affected CBS.

But like you said, they took care of business.

San Diego 14 Buffalo 23

Now, next week, the Bills go to Miami to face a re-vamping Dolphins team.

And it was great to see Trent Edwards back in the saddle. He is the real deal as QB! :D

yeah Trent played really well, any QB that completes 83% of his passes is a QB I want on my team.

He is playing with a real sense of confidence right now and I dont see any real reason why that would change...save for an injury or something

on my way home from Batavia (went to the casino today).

what casino? the racetrack?

Yes. They have over 500 gaming machines right at Batavia Downs, from traditional one-armed bandits to just about any kind of video gaming machine that you can think of. When I lose, I call it "making my donation to the State of New York." I usually lose more often than I win, but it's all in fun.....:D

alright thats what i thought...no poker games there unfortunately (except video)...i just want to turn 21 ](*,)

I can't remember the last time we were this far into a football season and we still didn't have a clear cut front runner. The Pats are obviously not the same w/o Brady, the Colts are ailing, I guess the Titans are kind of the front runner, but Kerry Collins? The Giants are faltering, the Cowboys are sinking fast, the Cards and Packers have a lot to prove. I guess that leaves the Steelers?
