Nfl 2008-2009

Buffalo Bills 16
Miami Dolphins 25

2 fumbles and an interception, all in the fourth quarter did them in.....

The Bills got "squished by The Fish..."

The Bills basically didn't finish any drives. Turned the ball over after getting into Miami territory...you cant do that if you expect to win games.

Still 5-2 but this game against the Jets this weekend will be that much bigger. Espically since New England is tied with us for the division lead now, we can't drop anymore division games.

Agreed!

The Bills better be sharp this weekend. Favre may be getting "long in the tooth", but he still has a lot of piss and vinegar left in him. He has made the Jets a better (but still somewhat inconsistent) team.

It's not that I'm worried of the Jets in particular...I feel like they have a misleading 4-3 record. The last three weeks struggled against Cincinatti and Kansas City at home and lost to the Raiders in overtime. There only decent win this season was at home against Arizona, but I dont think Edwards is going to turn the ball over 6/7 times like Warner did that day. They havn't looked too good on the road this season (although they won week 1 in Miami which is something we didnt do...lol) and Favre is throwing lame ducks up for grabs. If the d-line can get to him and force him to throw up some desperation passes our secondary can have a field day (3+ int), save for McGee who didnt look healthy at all trying to cover Ted Ginn Jr.

I want us to give Marshawn the ball too, when he gets 18+ carries were 5-0, the other two games we didnt get him carries we lost (12 @ arizona, 13 @ miami respectively). Fred Jackson is a good spell back but I want him in on 3rd and long situations when we are looking to pass...i think he's more of a threat to catch the ball than Marshawn is (although Marshawn does have 24 catches).

Buffalo Bills 17
New York Jets 26

The Bills once again messed it up for themselves. Sloppy play once again did them in against a less than stellar performance from an aging Brett Favre, and an imperfect Jets team.

And this was a week after they extended Coach Dick Jauron's contract for another three years..... ](*,)

Hate to say it but it looks like Edwards is losing confidence to me.

That INT for a TD he stared down the receiver for 5 seconds. Safety broke on the ball and that was that.

From the 300s it looked like Trent was double-clutching a lot and was unsure of where to go with the ball. The D line did a good job putting pressure on him and the Jets refused to be beaten deep, the safeties played way back so Evans wouldn't beat them on the deep ball.

Settling for FGs wont help either. And where was Marshawn today? I heard in the stands he was sick at one point, I hate giving Fred Jackson (3rd down RB more for receiving) the ball on a 4th and 1. Jauron didn't impress me with the playcalling or personell decisions today after that 1st drive.

Things dont get any easier with New England next week. Hate to say it but the division is slowly slipping from our grasp. 0-2 in the AFC East going to new england? I hope the Colts pull this game out because that would be a huge blow to our season if we go into Foxboro and lose.

edit: ron are you from buffalo or are you a fan in rochester?

well the Colts just held on so there's a 3 way tie for 1st in the AFC East, and Miami is only a game out.

1) New England 5-3 (1-1 division)
2) NY Jets 5-3 (2-1)
3) Buffalo 5-3 (0-2)
4) Miami 4-4 (2-1)

Such a weird breakdown. Hate to say but it's looking like the Bills have to win out in the division to get the crown (in my eyes at least), and we still have to go to New England and New York for two divisional games, not to mention going to Toronto to play Miami. Looking at how competitive the division is we might get 3 teams in the playoffs but there are no guarantees.

I'm in Rochester, aka Paradise-on-Lake Ontario, (hehehe!)

I am a life-long Bills fan.

My dad used to take me to old The Rockpile, when I was a kid, to see The 1970s incarnations of the Bills...(Yup, I saw games with OJ Simpson in them)

I remember when "The Ralph" was Rich Stadium.

I was a non-believer in Jim Kelly when he first joined the Bills because of all the controversy of him not wanting to play for Buffalo at first (he played a year in the USFL, for the Houston Gamblers, before relenting to play for the Bills).

I was on Doug Flutie's side of the quarterback controversy with Rob Johnson. I realize that there were lots of tinkering from Mr. Ralph Wilson in that mess... (and yes, I loved it when Rob and the Bills lost to Doug and the Chargers in San Diego).

I stood by Drew Bledsoe when everyone else was calling for JP Losman to take over. Drew was a good guy. I met (and talked with) him twice.

And when JP did take over, I stood by him too, good, bad, or otherwise.

So I am hopeful for our guy,Trent. He has a talented supporting cast. Guys like Marshawn Lynch, Leodis McKelvin, Roscoe Parrish, Terrence McGee, Paul Posluszny, Brian Moorman, and Aaron Schobel are consistently good. And as far as kickers go, Rian Lindell is as good as they get (although I wasn't too happy with the one he missed today.....).

Some weeks, it just isn't easy being a Bills fan.....:D

ehh not that old lol. i go to school at st john fisher (where they practice for training camp) oj was sweet though i only got to see him ride a bronco.

it was messed up how Flutie led the Bills to the playoffs and then Johnson got the start against Tennessee back in 99

Drew didn't get a fair shake in Buffalo, he was never a mobile quarterback to begin with but his last two years in Buffalo there was absoultely no offensive line to speak of.

JP is gonna start somewhere else next year and maybe with some stability he can be a good quarterback.

I went to school at Fisher too, and graduated from there in 1985 (which, I suspect, may be before you were born, hehehe!)

Flutie can laugh now. He has nothing to prove to anybody. He's already in the College Football Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Regardless of whether or not he gets into the Pro Football hall of Fame, he has made his mark on the sport in positive ways. I followed his career since college (he's 362 days older than me). He was dealt a bad hand in Buffalo by Mr. Wilson, but in the end, Doug had the last laugh...

Same for Drew...While he wasn't very mobile, he had a great throwing arm. I met him twice, but got to really spend some time talking with him, when he appeared one evening at a workshop that his father, Mac Bledsoe, gave in Spencerport. Drew's parents were both teachers, and Mac had written a book on good parenting. Drew, and his wife, were there support him. Both father and son were sensible and articulate.

And as for JP...you are right on the mark. He's going to be a great QB for the right team and coach. It's going to be Buffalo's loss....

And as for Trent.....well, I like him well enough. Jim Kelly and Peyton Manning were not spectacular in their first few years either. He needs time, and more protection from his offensive line.....

jeeze...dont date yourself lol

i like trent but i hope he's not losing his swagger, like i said i was up in the 300s but i thought he double clutched the ball way too much. the offensive line didn't help but you have to release the ball at a certain point in time. not having balance with the run game doesnt help, such an aggravating game watching the running backs.

im gonna go back to my 15pg paper now hopefully your not one of the evil teachers that give horribily long assignments ](*,)

ah who am i kidding i waited til sunday night to start doing it

Naw...I believe in homework, not torture like a 15 page paper.....(never taught at the college level either...) :D

Really not feeling confident about this game in New England. We are banged up...Whitner, Schobel, Youboty all out of practice today, Mitchell limited

If we dont establish Lynch and the running game im gonna go insane.

If we dont have balance Bills are probably looking at a 2TD loss and start seeing playoff aspirations slip away.

Well....the Bills didn't win against the Patriots on Sunday, November 9.

Trent and Company looked sloppy against Tom Brady's back-up, Matt Cassel, and the mighty Pats...

Final Score... Bills 10 Pats 20

Up next.....Buffalo's only Monday night game this season, against Brady Quinn and the Browns, who have issues of their own to deal with. Sit tight folks, it's going to get even more interesting.....:corn:

Holy smokes, what a Monday night game! Near the end of the 4th quarter I was numb, I was wanting SF to upset my Cardinals because AZ was playing like shit. We are so freakin' lucky that Martz screwed up that final call. If Whisenhunt doesn't tighten this ship, we could end up as the most embarassing division winners ever. I believe Seattle will actually put up a big fight this Sunday, and they have a chance to upset us. I'll be biting my nails on Sunday!

Final score prediction:

Arizona 22
Seattle 21

Anyone think Ty Law will have an impact on Thursday night's game? I just hope the Pats don't lose yet another player for the season...

Bills are irritating me so much. This game against Cleveland is no gimmie as well. With the defense banged up, the Browns had a few extra days off. They are facing adversity and they might take this game and say 'lets show everyone what we're made of' type crap

Trent idk what happened bro. I know your not getting great protection but you cant be overthrowing receivers.

If this game is anything like the last two minutes of the Dallas/Buffalo MNF game I was at last year its gonna be a long ride back to Rochester tuesday morning.

yeah so when Cleveland trotted onto the field to kick that 56 yard field goal i was in the stands laughing my ass off

....and then he made it with 10 yards to spare.

bills arent winning the division, probably need to win out to make the playoffs in my opinion. at least lynch had a good game...edwards was so scared to do anything

so

Kansas City Chiefs 24

Buffalo Bills 54

Yup, that's right folks! The Bills visit to Arrowhead Stadium was a definite success.

True, KC is probably one of the weakest overall teams in the NFL, but the results were a morale boost that the Bills needed.

Trent Edwards appears to have found his mojo.....maybe not 100% but it was an improvement over the last several games.

This was Buffalo's second highest scoring game EVER. I believe that the the most points the Bills ever scored in one game was 58, and it was against Miami...(not sure of the year...)
