Anybody here watching the draft today? I'm hoping my Cardinals pull off a trade and get rid of that ingrate Anquan Boldin, move up in the draft and take a RB. There might be more trades to make this draft one of the more intersting in recent memory.

Boldin is one hell of a WR. he is just bitter Fitzgerald got a better deal and i think zona is better off trading him.

how did you guys do in the draft

Hey Red Storm,

We were very lucky that we got the RB we needed with the 31st pick. Edgerrin James will probably be released on Monday or Tuesday. Looks like Boldin will probably be a Cardinal for at least another season. I really thought Baltimore was going to trade for him. Oh well. How did your team do?

I no longer have an NFL team. I grew up being an LA Rams fan but feel very little passion for the ST Louis Rams.
I am a die hard college football, hoops, baseball , softball, hockey etc fan.

I see Arizona got Wells from Ohio state, he is alright. Has been injured a few times before so hopefully he will do well in the NFL. I am trying to understand why the Raiders went for the Maryland guy rather than Crabtree from Texas Tech ?

Wells is young and not jaded like the Edge is, so he should be an upgrade there. The story on the Raiders drafting Bey is that he somehow disrespected Al Davis and/or the Raiders when they brought him in for a workout, this was from one of the ESPN guys.

I hear you about not following the Rams to St Louis. I used to be a huge fan of the Rams when they were in CA. I definitely remember the John Robinson/Eric Dickerson/Jim (Chris) Everett teams, those were good times.

Me too, kinda, I follow the University of Arizona football & basketball teams, but I watch all of the college bowl games. And I watch all of the NFL games I can, whoever plays, but my Cardinals first.

ah a Wildcats fan. And I thought you rooted for the team down in Tempe.

As a native Arizonan, I root for all of the teams from the state, but when it comes down to it and I have to choose, I am a Wildcat fan. My brother, sister and myself all attended the UofA. Boldin showed up for mandatory practice today, but he claimed to have an injury. During a press conference Whisenhunt commented that the real reason is because he's unhappy with his contract. He is going to make things real hard this year, what a jerk.

He signed a contract and is getting good money, just play the game and wait to sign with another team when the contract is up.
Dear Phoenix99, I threw in the Tempe comment because I bleed maroon and gold. I follow, listen, read, and go to games whenever i can come out west. Since I am not a native Arizonan my love starts and ends with the maroon and gold. They are first above all, then nfl, mlb, nba etc. I should be in town this fall again for a game. Last year was the UGA game.
bear down

Oh wow, the Georgia game. What a disaster that was, it really exposed the Sun Devils to what kind of team they really were. I was embarassed for them, but I didn't shed a tear. Dont get me wrong, I'm happy for them when they do well, but I dont freak out when they dont.

the score didn't really reflect much of the game, UGa could have scored more pts if they wanted to. Your streak is in danger 25 yrs or so in hoops. Zane is transferring to make it even worse. the Pac will be down again next year so who knows

I was almost positive that our streak would be over after this season, but the new coach has recruited a couple of good players (Parrom from NY & Solomon Hill) so we just might keep the streak alive (might). Zane transferring isn't going to have that much of an effect on the team. Sean Miller said he had better opportunities elsewhere, i.e. hit the road jack.

Tyhe pac is going to be down this coming year. USC lost almost everyone, ucla is rebuilding. Cal is going to be the top team in my opinion. Harden and Pendy will be dearly missed in Tempe. Oregon state is improving. You just wont have much depth and experience. would it be enough to win 20 games and go to the dance? who knows.
on another note, gosh, you guys are awful in baseball this year. i expected more since you gave Miami ( FL ) all they could handle last year in the super regionals.

Yes, the Pac-10 will be down next season, which means it will be a wide open race for the title. Dont count out my Wildcats, no one gave them any respect this past season and they managed to make it to the Sweet 16. Oops, I just realized this is a NFL Draft thread.

So, who do you think had the best draft this year? I thought San Fran picking Crabtree was kind of weird. Who is going to throw to him- Shaun Hill? The Jets did good by trading up for Sanchez, he might be better than Stafford in Detroit. Stafford kind of gives me the Joey Harrington vibe. New England did some fantastic maneuvering getting how many extra pics, 10? Belichick is back and he's angrier than ever!

all the good players go late anyway

Welcome placez; This year was a pretty well balanced draft. No one was really spectacular, but the majority of the players will be solid. How did your team do?
