NHL - Speculate the standings

The pre-season is just over a week away!!

As the excitement builds, I am curious what you guys think will happen in the first quarter of the season. Make a prediction as to how you think the standings will look after every team has played at least 20 games. Afterwards we can change it for the next 20 games :)

WEST:

1. Anaheim- Pronger. Niedermayer. They have a scary D and above average goaltending, the finnish flash will take this team far.
2. Calgary- Iggy/Tanguay. Vezina goalie. Top 5 D in the league. My bias.

Ummmm... Spring, I hate to bother you and all, but ummm #1??? I think you know as well as I do that it the Wings who will be #1. After all we went out and got the greatest has been goalie in the league. (Hasek) And then we went out and got the best 3rd line player on Nashville. (Johnson) Then to top it off we got a used and worn out defenseman. (Markov) Shit I almost forgot to mention that we lost Shanahan, Stevie, Legace. In case any of you can't tell...I laid the sarcasim on pretty thick. :rolleyes:

Anyhoo, I can't believe I'm not even excited about hockey this season. I certainly hope the wings are better than I'm expecting. I'm saddened by this......:confused:
 
Pre-season starts tomorrow!

Here are my pre-season predictions. Things of course could change come the beginning of the season. Feel free to comment... these weren't just randomly generated ;-) The talent of the other teams in each division play a big role in my predictions, as every team plays every other divisonal team 8 times tghroughout the course of the season.

Crosby isnt hot IMO
I dont know, he just doesnt do it for me. Kesler is 10x hotter, same with Matt Lombardi, David moss and Andrew Ferrence on the Flames...

...and Calgary has 2 games in hand and is only 1 point behind :p
Vancouver is still second last in the NHL in scoring while Calgary is top ten in the league :D
 
Im from toronto and even though I love the Leafs and want to see them win a cup again , I dont think it will be for many years.

I think Buffalo has a very good chance this year , If Toronto cant do it then I hope its Buffalo not Ottawa!
 
Thank the Lord the All Star Break is coming up.

I don't think I've ever seen atleast a Dallas team so cursed when it comes to injuries.

But atleast we didn't get anyone hurt in the last game.

Blecch, I think I just vomited a little. He looks like someone's taken a frying pan to his face. He looks like the bastard child of Rick Moranis. Ugh, I haven't felt this sick since looking at Alexander Ovechkin.

Stars pull within 1 point of the Sharks, with a game in hand, and 7 of the Ducks, with two games in hand.

Dallas still plays San Jose once more, in Dallas. Dallas also plays Anaheim three more tiems, two in Dallas.

I like our chances, especially going 9-3-1 in our last 13 games. :)
