So this is probably going to attract the wrath of a certain someone here, but I thought I would express my distaste with the continued use of Nick's images by Jake Cruise. Dink has indicated he will not feature Nick again, which I greatly respect. Jake, I think it's pretty tasteless for you to make money on a dead guy, especially one who died so tragically. Sorry, just my two cents.
 
I agree, I've been thinking that for the last couple or years as Jake Cruise has continued using Nick's videos. I won't say I was surprised to see him as an update on Cocksuremen, but I guess it just goes to show how little respect Jake Cruise and the rest of the staff have for their models. This is just bad taste.

It is incredibly tacky. And it's an old set, too--WTF? This is supposed to be a "new" site, but he's using all these old sets from jakecruise.com.

And it was just a few weeks ago that I saw teaser galleries for Nickolay Petrov--again, WTF?? Did he sneak a camera into his jail cell?

Yeah... we knew when we were adding it that it was going to be a controversial decision, but it was a bit of a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't thing. CocksureMen has two updates per week. The majority of the content is new, but we've also included a lot of the "non-Jake" scenes from Jake Cruise. People have asked to see lots of those classic scenes and since we have a non-Jake site, it made sense to include them. You have the option of joining either site. If you want to see Jake with the guys, join Jake Cruise. If you just want to see the guys solo or together, join Cocksure Men.

Had we not included it, people would have said we were "making" them join Jake Cruise to see Nick's solo scene, and if we included it (which we chose to do), we would be called out for using older images of a model who died in an accident quite a while after we shot him. The fans asked for him and we answered that call.

Our decision also took into account that many other adult performers have died - including Joey Stefano whose videos are still huge sellers, Casey Donovan, Leo Ford and many of my other favorite porn stars - and it's never been suggested that their DVDs be deleted. Rightfully so. Leo's movie Blondes Do It Best is one of my favorite porn movies ever. John Holmes died in the 80s and you can still buy his DVDs.

Nick looks amazing in his scene. He's got a great body, a handsome face and he has a presence that jumps off the screen. He was very proud of how well this shoot came off and rightly so. It's still a favorite with the fans all these years later. There's no reason not to include it, really.

I personally think it's a good tribute to him. Nick obviously enjoyed showing off his beautiful body and this way, at least he is immortalised forever in cyberspace.
 
Which is why we didn't promote it. You'll notice I didn't post his pictures anywhere, we didn't design a set of promotional banners and we didn't send out a campaign for it.

It just.. went up on the site. On a Tuesday.
 
It was in the member's newsletter, but only mentioned with a single line of text saying something like "last Tuesday's update was Nick's solo" and then a very short description of the scene with a couple thumbnails further down the page. It wasn't the main focus of the Cruiser at all. I mean.. people were asking for it.. we let members know it was there but didn't make a big production out of it. I didn't make a thread about it here or any of the other places I promote our updates.

Anyway... We all have different opinions on the subject. Maybe some people feel that adult work is something to be ashamed of. We don't and neither did Nick. He was proud, and rightfully so, of how great he looked in that photo shoot. Some people might see adding it to the site differently than we do, but we'll just have to agree to disagree.

One thing we CAN agree on it that the accompanying was hot and funny and very enjoyable. Just like they didn't stop the release of Dark Knight after Heath Ledger died, I don't think it would be appropriate to bury Nick's movie after his death (which was quite a while after he shot for us). To me personally, it would be a bit of an affront to his memory. As if he did something he shouldn't be proud of doing. And that's not how we see it.

Anyway.. I hadn't planned on making a big production about it here on JUB and I've already had to make three posts... three more than I had wanted to make. I'm not going to try to change anyone's opinion of the situation or me or Jake... everyone is welcome to their own take on this.

Like I said, we were in a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't situation.
 
Meh--whatever. It's not like I'm NOT still spanking it to his photos/videos. But I do light a candle every time.

Nickolay, however...sorry, nuh-uh. Can't really get off to guys who beat up little old ladies for a living. It's just not a fetish of mine.
 
I wonder if Nick's family finally gave up their psychotic obsession with alleging that Nick was the subject of a "hit" taken out by some unknown gay porn producer (or possibly his own agent) because he "knew too much about the gay porn industry."

There was a tribute Yahoo group where some of his relatives were making up all sorts of conspiracy theories like that because they couldn't deal with the fact that Nick had no problem performing porn for gay men. This group, they would ban anyone that didn't believe their paranoia. I get that it was a shocker that he died. And to find out that he was stripping and making pornos after he died was probably overstressing their fragile state.

Even though he never did a gay porn, he did work for a gay strip club that had private dances in private rooms where lap dances took place. When I went to this club, some of the dancers allowed you to feel them up and I was told some of them allowed you to blow them. I know that amateur gay porn is sometimes a little loose on what happens before or after the shoot. Some of the models I know who did only solo porn have gotten blown before and I wouldn't be surprised if Nick hadn't had an off-camera blowjob from a guy.
 
I was just watching preview clip on JC and it was super clear I wish Sean Cody were that clear. I would get a membership but I just hate seeing JC in every video
