As much as Edie has many antagonistic points in the storyline, I don't think she deserved to die. I think of her as a person you can hate one moment and want her off and other times she is endearing and her somewhat tragic past can excuse her behavior.
Although I haven't tuned into much of season five, I'll be sad to see her go.

I always felt kind of sorry for Nicolette, she wasn't even featured in the opening credits or anything. Never considered a part of the "main four" yet within reach.

Marc Cherry is a bad gay. What kind of pathetic homo in his position would introduce such humorless, extraneous gays like Bob and Lee. And his comments about Nicolette are catty and unnecessary.

It's unfortunate that Nicolette had to leave. She played an amazing antagonist.

Now we're stuck with that waste of space, Katherine.

Cherry really need to stop making casting decisions based upon whether the actors and actresses like each other.

Her character's been shitty since season two anyway.

And she's a mediocre actress despite her dumb comments about her being some precious jewel needing to be polished

She was my favourite character. The show will not be the same with her gone, and I am sure the move to drop her character will drop this show lower on my list of shows I cannot miss.

I guess DH has run its course. I hate when good TV shows die :(

Cutting cost? He should start with Katherine. And talking about waste of space, what about Orson Hodge?

If Marc needed to cut costs, he should have started with Susan Meyer (ugh) talk about a lifeless character, then he could have wacked Orson. Edie was one of my faves, she should have been the fourth main desperate housewife. We could only hope we see more of Andrew from here on out.

say what you will about Nicolette, but Edie Britt was THE SHIT!!! i'ma miss that girl:cry::cry::cry:

i actually got choked up a bit, last night!oops!

i have to agree with ms. sheridan and her comment about being ignored. i mean for those of you who watched since episode one, you just never really felt that edie was considered to be one of the leading housewives, but dana delany seemed to just fit right in after one season. i liked katherine mayfair last season, but i think the writers hooked her up with mike only to give her some kind of function. if it werent for the bad blood between sheridan and cherry and if the show was really looking to save money and cut corners, me thinks dave's plan a few weeks ago would've went off without a hitch.

From the beginning Edie seemed to be a periphial character that just came in to stur things up now and then. I loved her and I do think alot of people did which is why she sort of got more meat in the storylines, but truly, she was never meant to be a main character IMO. The send off show was fantastic though.

Both of these people have huge egos, especially Nicolette who I've only heard bad things about way before now. And man, she proves that fair skinned blonds age horribly. Her send off episode last night was basically like a repeat of the episode about the repair man who died earlier this season. A lot of flashbacks.

There was definitely something personal going on between the two of them, and it makes that story about him slapping her a while back make much more sense.

Edie was a two dimensional character that chimed in with good one liners. That's about it.

And that's about all Nicollette Sheridan was capable of.
