Which western countries have night time economy ???
Night time means open till midnight.

So which cities open till midnight or after midnight ??

Awww, I feel bad for the kid. He appears to be in deep doo-doo.

I don't think it's a bad thing for kids to be forced to think about the gravity of their choices, and I'm sure they would be happy to drive under the influence, but I can't agree with this war on drugs.

We're making criminals out of just idiots and teens. The middle class usually cleans up and moves on, but the poor seem to never break out of it, including alcohol, and just start a cycle of underemployment, lack of meaningful higher education, and poverty.

Alcohol does more damage in society.

Most western countries now have a 24 hour economy.

Perhaps in some sectors of the economy.

In the rest of the country most businesses that aren't full scale industrial plants close at dinner time, on Sundays and every Christian holiday.

I'm a night owl and I have always found my possibilities for employment severely limited.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....I am talking about factories and finance......

That kid is doing some heavy drug use. It takes a lot to get the sunken skull look.

Denver strangely seems to be backing away from a 24-hour economy. I work really late one night, so I end up either going out to dinner or picking up something after midnight that night. I used to have my pick of almost twenty places to eat between my work and home. Now there are five. And it's not like they went out of business - even places like McDonald's in the heart of Denver decided they're closing at 11 now.

A few years ago, Mirik Milan sent a wakeup call to urban centers around the world as Amsterdam's Night Mayor.
Among major cities of the world, Amsterdam is globally recognized as a 24-hour nightlife hub. Other cities acknowledge that nightlife is key to future development and prosperity.

This is from a couple of years ago. Wonder if DC ever appointed their own Night Mayor?

And King Soopers (our Kroger affiliate) after 25+ years of having most locations open 24 hours has gone to closing all no later than midnight. :( Late night munchies? Wally World is the option. Yuck.

And our RTD (Regional Transportation District officially, 'Reason To Drive' for the locals) buses and rail start shutting down by midnight, very few options for public transportation between 12AM and 5AM.

oh i didn't think of that.
I was thinking about crowded places such as shops, banks, sex places ... etc

Well sex places are probably always open....but overall...it is hard enough keeping bricks and mortar stores open these days anyway without having to pay someone to mind them 24/7.

And personal Banks? With on-line banking and cash machines....we're lucky to have branches open during the day now. All the rural branch banks are closing....

There was a large 24 hour grocery store in our neck of the woods, but even they didn't have enough customers to justify keeping the doors open.

Nope. Researched a club I'd be allowed in a couple months ago, but they all seem to have closing hours these days.

It's a lie. I'm from Amsterdam. There's hasn't been 24 hours partying there for twenty years.
