NIKITA: the lastest remake

third episode gets off to a rocky start with a journalist played by a distractingly terrible actress, but it quickly improves. a little more screentime for amanda and relatively light on the nikita-michael romance, which is good.
Thank god it's light on Michael-Nikita romance. That's my least favorite part. Maggie Q looks good, but way too old for Shane West. The chemistry is just way off. His chemistry with Alex isn't bad though.

west is such a non-presence, when he could hold his own against super-awesome q in hand-to-hand combat, it was so jarring it took me right out of the story. his character needs to die quickly, but im afraid we must endure his painfully predictable character arc first.

of the villains, only amanda can hold her own against nikita so far. the more screen-time she gets, the better. i like the tech-guy as well... there is something nicely ambivalent about him.

I have watched the first three episodes and I find the series to be pretty good.

finally some welcome changes in nikitas love life, in form of hunky owen (devon sawa). between him and thom (ashton holmes) we have some decent eye-candy. the baddies also keep developing nicely, i want more screen time for the terrifying guy with the silver hair and horn-rimmed glasses.

but there are things that worry me a little, besides shane west. the episodes have been rather monochromatic, and they start to blend into each-other in my memory. in alias, we had a new silly wig and a new fancy location every episode; nikita could use a splash of colour like that.
the scenes at the division training camp arent that convincing either. the recruits have their private rooms plastered with posters... where do they get them from? and why are they able to sneak around and talk privately like that? isnt every inch of that place under video and audio surveilance? i thought they are supposed to be murderers in captivity, but it seems more like high-school kids at a summer camp.

so yeah, a couple of episodes in, i dont think the series is as good as it could be. still fun enough, though.

I wasn't too fond of the original movie. It seemed to drag out which made me lose interest. I did like the series with Peta Wilson as she's a hot babe and that kept me interested. The twists and turns in the plot also kept me interested, but Peta held it all together. I like the new series with Maggie Q. Maggie has a presence that Peta never did. It doesn't hurt either that Maggie is a babe. I'll keep watching the series though as it's interesting. I hope it goes into a second and possibly third season. I think Amanda's character has potential to develop more.

.
I like Devon Sawa's character as Nikita's love interest. But definitely don't like the looks of Ashton Holmes. I like his character. But he looks like a scrawny little dork. Like he should be another Birkoff. Alex is way too hot for him. And that black girl's weave/wig is a mess as well as her acting.

But you really have to check all your common sense and logic. B/c if you really think about it Alex having all this free time, unmonitored computer use, and access to intel, is completely and utterly RIDICULOUS. I choose to ignore how absurd it is and that is how can enjoy this show.

oh i love thoms puppy-dog dorkyness, its adorable! the actress whos playing alex is doing a solid job, but i think she looks bland. but i guess thats what her role demands, a contrast to the super glamorous nikita. and yeah, the actress whos playing jade sucks, and her hairdo makes the division look even more like the ANTM mansion.

good show so far. just a fyi though, all the episodes are being put up on the CW's website. So if you want to catch up, just go there.

Am really enjoying Nikita "I just love seeing WOmen kick ass". I really am enjoying Maggie Q's performance, Lyndsay Fonseca, and the actress playing Amanda "Who by the way needs way more screentime". Despite being a fan of Shane West, his character irritates me and I do not care for the male rogue either. Next week, Alex (Lyndsay Fonseca) escapes Division, can't wait for that

P.S.: Just asking, is anyone watching "No Ordinary Family?" starring Julie Benz for it's a very good show. The third episode comes on this coming Tuesday on ABC at eight o' clock. A must watch..|..|
