I saw the PC, he actually said Speaker "Boner" didn't answer 4 calls Chris made to him.

He was speaking for himself & Gov Cuomo, for the people of NJ/NY. He actually caslled it on the fact that those two states receive less federal $$ & pay out more Federal taxes than some "other" states, meaning I guess some Red states

Christie was pissed. Reminded me of the "other" Republican Party of Ike, Nixon, Taft, Wilkie.
When it wasn't the "party" or the politician's personal beliefs, but the people & the "correct thing to do".

The Senate passed a bill filled with pork -- remove the pork and the House will pass a bill.

It's like a response I read elsewhere. What did Christie think his party would do? His party is the party of small government so did he think they would whip out the checkbook just because it was him?

I seen congressman after congressman standing up saying its a shame, its a travesty, blah blah. My first thought was can't you do something about it instead of talking. They can't bring it up while they are standing there or refuse to leave until something is done about it instead of voicing their displeasure as if that would so anything to help the situation, especially since both sides seem to be wanting it.

The Senate is still doing things the old way --- stuff the bills with pork -- it's time for things to change.

If anything Harry Reid is the person Gov. Christie should be calling for loading up with bill with non-Sandy related goodies.

It's funny how people define pork nowadays. Most of the conservative talking points on this have involved spinning the spending in the bill to make it look like unneeded expenditures, when in fact most, if not all of it, is disaster related. Here is the full text of the bill so you can see where all of the money is going instead of just reading the talking points on various conservative blogs and news stations.

Now before people go talking about how this is an appropriations bill passed at the beginning of last year, you must make note that 99% of the bill has changed. Since only the House can originate spending bills, the Senate must amend/modify bills sent to it from the House.

Everyone knows that Boehner is Obama's dog right now.

Do you think Boehner will help Christie out when all Boehner wants to do is nothing at all?

People who still to this day talk like the economic problems of this country can be solved by reducing pork apparently missed that that was essentially McCain's entire position on the economy when he ran against Obama and that Obama pointed out in the debates and on the campaign trail that even if you eliminate every ounce of pork from legislation (but still get people to vote for it somehow?) it comes up to this miniscule amount as far as a deficit solution.

My thought on reforming the pork game is that congresscritters shouldn't be allowed to introduce anything unless it comes as a request from their state government. At least that way it would be more likely to be an actual need.
