No Country For Old Men

I'm glad i didnt pay at all.

Some people i know really wanna see it and i feel like telling them how its gonna not end.

It seems so horrible of me to keep silent knowing the cheated feeling they are going to get at the non end.

Prior to the ending i started to understand why it won BEST PICTURE, but with that end i think it does detract because its a question of what i the point of the whole thing, if he doesnt at least get the money.

Anyways i will go and read the book and watch again just be sure.

Have you gotten around to reading the book yet? I read it a couple of weeks ago. The movie is pretty faithful to the book. The movie simplifies the plot, combines some characters, and shifts the focus a bit. The book is much more clearly about the sheriff. We get a lot of backstory about him in the book that's not in the movie, and we get to understand a lot better why he feels so defeated with his job in law enforcement as well.

The one scene in the book that was not in the movie that I would have liked to have seen was the scene where the sheriff goes to visit Llewelyn's father, and they end up talking about the wars. I think it would have made the old men's perspective on America a lot clearer. I also thought the sheriff's story about talking to the pro-choice activist was pretty funny. Of course, adding all that would give the movie a much more "conservative" tone.
